  1. They probably have a carver cutter, vestax do or did one for about £6k. Discs were about 7p each.

Unless you put what you are talking about in the topic title or in the actual post those on mobile devices (iPhone etc) can't see what you are talking about. What record do you want a value for?

Terry you missed one from your list....... It's when someone tells someone not to play beat balls and mid tempo records ;-) Anyone who has the audacity to hold an opinion that differs to someone else is someone on this scene who is political. You can say what you want, run an event how you want to run it and advertise as such but someone will still disagree or take offence. Politics as it I'd called has always been around and always will be. It's envy, jealousy, people who make a penny out of the scene (how dare they), it's something that doesn't fit in with anothers viewpoint.

Think the original doesn't have "dish-a-tune" on the label either. Looking at the scans the slow side is the A side.

Not sure about the flip Seb but the MMHOTY side is from memory a tad faster but also has added horns or strings. Need to listen toboth sideby side again as it wad two or three years ago. Your theory is probably right as well.

The story of the second press, the one with (fast) after/under the title is somewhere on Soul Source, will see if can find them bit later. They are genuine, done a few years after the first by I think the writer/producer or whatever Charles Hunter from original tapes/masters. The story might even be on Shiptown Records website?
  7. Before I sold 'em I had a black vinyl and that had a poster. I kept the poster though when I sold the lp but dunno where it is now.

The recent ones Dylan are only a year or so old as far as I know. There was the original release then one a few years later that had (fast) under the title (this one a little faster and had either additional or fewer instruments, horns I think but not sure without checking). Now we have these recent ones.

I thought I'd seen the article some years ago Anyway if you know the issue of billboard it was in go to google books. All Billboard magazines are archived and viewable.
  10. Sure is
  11. I've seen a Canyon issue, well black label as per demo but it didn't say promotional copy not for sale so presume an issue?
  12. Nice one Dave, I'll download when I get home and on a PC.
  13. Saw few US issues couple of years or so ago for about £150, one for I think £75, think put one on Andys list for around that. Guess today add at least a ton.

    Sky plus is set
  15. Looks good Dave but I missed it as usual, podcast/download at all?
  16. My point Matt is maybe people saw the pound signs rather than the quality and as I said people want everything on a plate, they can't be bothered to seek out these cheap but quality records cause there is no kudos in buying cheap stuff but as soon as it fetches $200 everything changes.
  17. yes but CM probably sold his stock as a result of Seb's sale. Either that or he removed them from sale at $35 to sell at a higher price later I fully understand the argument not everyone knows everything but we are talking about a common record not as I said an unknown or even forgotten oldie.
  18. But I would be surprised if most didn't know Freddie Scott, it's not as though it's a newie or even forgotten oldie, it's been around forever. And if this record was still £10/£15 like it should be and didn't go for a daft price in an auction I dare bet Craig Moerer would have most of those 35 copies left. And if they didn't know it they clearly didn't have the imagination to seeking records like this out before it fetched a silly figure on auction. Trouble these days everyone needs to be told or have something highlighted rather than go out and look.
