Think you can go back a long way to see many of the moves now incorporated in the Northern Soul Scene. These two are fantastic......

  10. Never really thought about it at Lifeline as I don't think we have had any young kids. Karen's daughter Lottie goes but she's more grown up than most of you Never had a problem with her either and I wouldn't class her as a child as such. Dunno what Mick or Andy's take on it is but I will ask the question. If they read this they might give their views.
  11. was this one of those no one danced too first off and keb said I'm gonna keep playing it till you dance with maybe the odd expletive. Sure he said at the recent reunion that when he first played this no f**ker danced! Maybe if he reads this he'll he tell us one way or t'other. Someone did say it was once spun at Wigan, how true I don't know?
  12. big spin for Keb but dunno who actually discovered it.
  13. Soul Survivor - Sir Lattimore Brown Back From The Dead! If anyone is entitled to a pain in the heart it is Sir Lattimore. Born to beginnings we cannot comprehend in 1931 and growing up with practically nothing. But from these humble beginnings he was introduced to music, the music of the cotton fields and gospel from the church. Whilst serving in the Army in Korea, Lattimore was listening to acts such as King Cole Trio and Big Joe Turner and listening to these acts taught him a unique combination of R&B shouting and smooth vocal phrasing that he would carry on into his later work, work that would make him a veteran of the Chitlin Circuit working with some of the biggest names of the time. Upon settling down in later life, hoping to see out his... 14. I would agree they were done in the US at the time of release. Tony states as much in the other topic (one of them).
  15. The above is a quote from Tony Rounce in one of the previous topics about this and like Tone I've no reason to disbelieve the Ric Tic obsesive who sits directly behind him at work, I'd put what he says before any other theory put forward.

A quick search would probably have found you plenty of reading on this subject in the numerous topics about this record, would have saved all the negatives.

  20. Clydie King?
  21. bloody hell forgot all about that night
  22. Are venues and promoters covered under the child protection act or whatever it is? I know in sport anyone involved with kids has to have checks done at about £30 a time. I don't think all-nighters with everything that is associated with them should be a place for kids.
  23. I can remember about ten years or so ago when Alfreton was going strong again the place was full of them...well when I say full roundabout 20 or so. Think Ian who ran it finished up banning them after a lot of complaints, quite rightly so. see some at niters today and some can't be over 12.....in their vests and bags too
  24. Think the last one I saw was for about £700 in a deal, cash/trades. Think one before was £600 cash, can't quite remember. JM books it at £1k and like Rod I think that's a bit hopeful, but who knows? Magic record but like Dave said don't think that many punters really know it. Andy Dyson has been playing it on and off for last couple years or so.
