  1. don't think he can explain it Pete as most was written after 1960 so not past the 50 year time line.
  2. it is a legit re-release by the label though and not some reissue label. Can someone post in refosoul the definite lp take and the 1970 take to clear this up. I was sure I downloaded the 1970 take from an ebay listing but could be wrong now. It could well be the LP take although I've never taken a soundfile from the lp as I've never had it.
  3. hi Brett. The one I posted is the soundfile from the one on eBay so definately the 1970 release.
  4. Got to agree with you there Rich.
  5. I can remember the show but not what the show was. Phil should be able to tell us if he reads this.
  6. sorry Ted it's me, thought you was referring to a record he had covered up as Time Yuro....think I need some sleep
  7. Which was that one Ted? Can remember his Judy Clay (Abracadabra) c/u. George Pepp (My First Lonely Night) c/u Trying now to remember what his June Jackson & The Hearts (You'll Break My Heart In Two) c/u actually is Was the Tommy Navarro that started this topic cover up title I Love You So?

I doubt there is enough chemicals left in the paint once it has properly cured/dried to do any damage. Most modern paints are pretty safe these days (paints for everyday use off the shelf) and many of the dangerous chemicals no longer used (wouldn't advise drinking it though ). It would probably need something to react with as well to give off any fumes, i.e. excessive heat etc.. Many of the chemicals in paint evaporate in drying. I used to run a paint shop some of the paints we used could kill you in 20 minutes if didn't use ventilators, masks etc. My varnished wooden box isn't lined and it is 25 years old not done any damage to any records.
  9. think the book is about ten years old, I got it when it came out but I can't remember it, maybe time for a re-read. From what I remember it's not a 100% true account (bit of artistic license?) but a story based on his youth????
  10. no its not rare, when I see it listed it is usually around the £40/£50 mark, might get it cheaper, no demand for it at all as far as I'm aware. Does it ever get played out now? I played it odd time or two over the years but remained on shelf for some time now.
  11. there is a blue label as well Carl, not as good as I remembered..... BARRY GRAND, ANNIVERSARY SONG, KARATE -
  12. Thanks Carl. Dunno why it came to mind but at least someone remembered what it was....cheers:-)
  13. for some reason this came into my head earlier today, can anyone remind me who it is etc. Would have been played by Danny 86/87.
  14. mention of a "Sherwoods" getting signed to Nowsound HERE page 15.

there's a few that make me cry especially when I see what I sold 'em for and what they sell for now
  16. thank god for that for senile dementia was setting in early She was indeed an unlucky girl to have two bad presses then!!
  17. Do you have scan of same quality of I Bet You Richard?
  18. JEAN CARTER - LOVE HANGOVER - SUNFLOWER - JEAN CARTER - I BET YOU -
  19. I've read that too.....agree tis a good book
  20. dunno mate, got it in my head the Sunflower press was not tip top quality either, again thinking it was something Sidney Barnes mentioned as well. Not had the record for years. Could be the grey matter getting rather clouded Ady
  21. according to this scan its west coast so did it have a Detroit release as well? Also according to Keith Rylatts new Detroit Soul book Bobby Taylor on the Detroit Sunflower.
  22. I thought the Jean Carter on Sunflower was Detroit, couldn't check yesterday as I've been away with work all week.....
  23. The lead in the Moments - You Said, must have a right pair of lungs on her
  24. this record is always going to sell for top whack! How often does it come up for sale, not very. Add to that the quality and the history of the record. There is always going to be a demand for this. If Gene Toones is worth the £1500 it regularly fetches then this is worth double.
