  1. in the comments it does name some of the dancers... Sandy Holt, Julie Bebb & Co bringing back fab Mr M's memories and great to see the vid as it features lil ole me dave formerly of horwich now in carlisle, sandy holt and johhny burke cant remember the girls soz , the film was for the omnibus programme BBC we filmed it in manchester during the afternoon then on to the casino in the evening, cant believe i had all that hair and It's definately Sandy with the double belt. The black guy is Caeser and I think the other guy is Keb (not sure). The two girls in the background are (I think) Julie (black hair) and Sue Hollis, both from Rochdale. Happy days. It does say after that it ain't Keb, maybe Jethro.
  2. I use download helper (firefox plug in), one click and it downloads the file, same for audio. It only downloads as an flv file though so have to convert. Then I use I tunes for the ipod.
  3. Essential listening, few hours of interviews to catch up on at work next week Bob, keep 'em coming!!!
  4. Been on the ipod a while this one. The dancing is great, effortless. Great record too!!
  5. Was a biggie for Rob Marriott later on in the 80's too.
  6. sure I read somewhere in the mists of time that John Oates played (guitar) on some of the Temptones tracks or other Arctic recordings.
  7. I know there is another release and who is spinning it
  8. CONTESSA - Need Your Love - Laz Bar
  9. Didn't Pat Brady play this first, again covered as the Twans? If so I presume Mark got it from Pat?????
  10. well it is a very rare record with just a few known copies.
  11. dunno
  12. I would agree with you Pete, it is a great Northern dancer but he can't sing, he makes George Lemmons sound good
  13. Didn't the first two come from same source? that's what I was led to believe, and also he has a few???? Rumour or is there any truth in it? Whatever, it is still a very rare record.
  14. or if you mean Contessa - I Need Your Love - Laz Bar it's a one off as far as I know. Don't know who owns it now.
  15. there was some before this one but they were advertised as Magic Of Motown weekenders but they had northern room and most of the Dj's were northern Dj's. Here's the program from the first one.... flyer for the first.... think this is the first one advertised as Northern Weekender....
  16. I'll give you £20 for the Conquistadors
  17. It was me who asked about him Dave. Glad to know both Dawn and Nick doing well. Hopefully he will make it up to Lifeline in the New Year.
  18. considering I don't send cards Just think if the boot was on the other foot and someone sold you a carver of a cover up and you find out it is off a cd...you wouldn't be very pleased if you are totally honest, I wouldn't be. But at the end of the day the worst thing you can do is post a sound file of a record covered up on here, it will be uncovered in no time, as you found out to your cost.

It's that rare on either label and so indemand I suppose it's a case of what someone is usually willing to bid at the time of a sale. Was also told the Palladium were the later release?
  20. true, now where's me tin hat
  21. There have been bigger and rarer (and better) records than this uncovered on soul source. I do agree it isn't right getting carvers done of a cd track and flogging them to fellow soulies
  22. kin ell I'm in trouble then
  23. can't remember but don't think it was a great deal that it sold for. no sign of it on popsike or collectors frenzy.
  24. this is the one that went through ebay some months ago....universal acetate
