What about all the other records that are one known copy? aren't they as rare?

I heard this practically every week back in the mid 80's courtesy of Butch, before Shifty.

IMHO it is worth that kinda money, still a very rare record. If Bill Bush is worth the £800 to £1k as stated elswhere in these pages then this is worth £8k far rarer and better IMHO.
  7. wasn't there one on here recently for sale? could have been a list I suppose, sure I've seen one somewhere for sale recently.
  8. I would agree with that
  9. At Prestatyn when first asked Don had no recollection of the Shep disc. He later said it was him.

Yep thinking the same myself Tony. A record you rarely see for sale I would have thought it would have made at least double what it did.

but why drill a hole to hang it from when there's a biggun in the middle I have heard the tale that records were used for ballast on ships though.

it doesn't hurt or take up any time to do a search of refosoul to see if it's already in there.
  19. just thought of another... Jean Wells - With My Love - Calla. One of the best records ever made, great dancer!

I think the partial clips are from a few years ago when site used to "clip" the tracks or cut 'em in half to get round the copyright laws, might be wrong.......... can also be a pain when all the info isn't entered, maybe each field should be mandatory before being allowed to post/upload??? also why do people keep posting tracks when it's already in refosoul, sometimes two or three times

reading some more....apparently Spector lost a law suit and the award was the royalties of the next Crystals release I bet Sill was p*ssed off https://www.snopes.com/music/artists/spector.asp

just read this on wikipedia... The "Let's Dance The Screw" saga The next single credited to The Crystals is one of the rarest -- and also possibly the strangest -- in rock music history. Reports vary as to the actual motivation behind the recording, but most agree that Phil Spector was looking for a way to annoy former business partner Lester Sill. What he came up with was a nearly six-minute song called "Let's Dance The Screw - Part I", which would have been unplayable on 1963 radio. The record featured simple instrumentation (very much unlike Spector's famous Wall of Sound production style), repetitive lyrics, and Spector himself intoning the lyric "Dance The Screw" numerous times in a deadpan monotone. (The B-side, Part II, was more of the same.) The Crystals sang the song's repetitive verses, though it is unclear if these singers were the 'real' Crystals or The Blossoms. Incidentally, some accounts mention that Spector's lawyer is actually the man intoning "Dance The Screw." The recording was never released commercially as a single, and only a few copies are known to exist (all marked D.J. COPY - NOT FOR SALE). The record was apparently only created to be a bizarre sort of joke at Sill's expense, who was soon to leave the Philles label, as a single copy was specially delivered to him in early 1963. Both parts of the song have since been released on CD. Further information about this strange recording can be found at snopes.com
