I sold a boot for a more and the buyer was prepared to pay more than what he did.

  4. she was a good friend Karen, both of you. You were always trying and sometimes succeeding in winding me up, still got the acid badge somewhere I think Lesley will be missed How could I forget the bank holidays and lightweight...moi? we had some great times!
  5. The Winding Wheel was the best venue I've ever been to. Still the same too as it';s a grade 1 listed building. Would love to get another nighter there...maybe I' should pop in and have a word. Upstairs room for 400 and 150, downstairs for 700 and another small room. I thought there was more than 3 tho'

  7. One for sale on here not so long ago if I remember rightly for around a ton. Think I listed one for Andy for about the same price about a year ago Agree though could well be more now.

Don 't think the quality is disputed, except by Col Just disputing the comment that there's nothing better...Sam Williams is far better record IMHO.
  10. got the flyer here, Friday April 22nd. Duuno the year but late 80's for sure.

As good as it may be I bet this is played at most oldies venues week in week out. Can think of many records I'd sooner hear now instead of this and can think of plenty that can touch this and surpass it.
  15. but along side those covers they did some of the best records ever put to vinyl. Classics that helped make the Temptations what they are and give some of those in the group now a decent living off the back of them.
  16. There are some photos kicking about from Mexboro'. When Guy had his site up and running they were on there, can't for the loife of me remember who submitted them. I've got the flyers
  17. Yeah they did and it was same weekend as the Norwich all-nighter at the University I think mentioned in the 80's lost years topic.
  18. It goes for around £100 Ian.

On digging a bit further it apopears not, the Charles Wright above aka Little Cholly Wright according to the Soul Harmony singles. There was another Chuck Wright recording on Ember.... Never Before/Heartless Tears.

there was a Charles Wright in the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band, dunno if the same.
  22. Used to see her practically every week. They were in the Cambridge area but have no contact number now. did have Kevs but can't find my old adress book.
  23. Is Kev, Kev Draper???? If same Denise I remember her well. Not seen for a long time though, saw Kev at the Dome few years ago, dunno if Denise was with him or not (if the same Denise that is).
  24. I'd pay to see Ronnie too, only in his own right though, I've no wish to see him doing covers of Four Tops records £35 still to much IMHO.
  25. £35 pricey, it's scandalous when you think that most of those you are paying £35 to see have no real connection to the group and it's past members that they rely on for a living. They really had no part in creating the groups that are or should I say were the Tempts and the Tops and the history that they left behind. And as for not comparing Ronnie McNeir etc to the group in Spain, well they are no different in essence, a group of singers relying on material that isn't really theirs.
