  2. Last night I joined Dean and Gez for a second Post Stafford Special featuring some great Northern Soul from played on the scene the late 80s, into the 90s and 00s.
  3. Here are the sleeve notes for the CD I have of Dayco Records. It's clear Eddie Daye didn't sing lead, he was the bass singer. There is no mention of Vic.
  4. I don't think they do, may be Northern Soul collectors and their insular view on things but not you serious collectors. It would be foolish to ignore the Japanese and what they have done, it would be foolish to assume just X number of copies exist of a certain record. This one, I've only ever seen the two copies but knew copies were in the hands of other collectors.
  5. They look a good price. Dozens on ebay from the UK but they are pretty expensive for what they are
  6. I have a cd of their stuff, will try and find it when I get home and see if it can add anything to the discussion.
  7. Bit good these, a must and just hope some Djs get behind records like this.
  8. What was it 🤷‍♂️

  10. He does state Lorraine wasn't involved in the label and he's selling a record though not doing an in-depth piece. I don't see what he has done wrong by not mentioning everything? He isn't incorrect in anything he has written.
  11. Without going through all this, what is JM ignoring?
  12. The music business was and is a murky business. Dave Hamilton had no idea about Monique and her use of his backing. highly likely its the same for Curtis, he probably had other projects taking up his time.
  13. This weeks show, 10th March featuring the guys from the LaBeat Soul Club in Edinburgh, Gavin Elder, Brian Gordon and Ross Wilson for a three hour special.
  14. Yep handclaps on the Fairmount plus the edited sax break on the Rouser and the Rouser take seems to be pitched up
  15. The stars have aligned and I'm off this particular weekend....see you there 😃
  16. I think it is the same take, just edited 👍
  17. I don't think Rouser re-recorded it or used another take rather just chop bits out of the Fairmount take. I'll have to listen again to refresh the grey matter.
  18. Both Frankie Beverley and The El Corals on Rouser are both reissues or another go at hitting the charts? Both are edited takes of their original Fairmount and Tiny releases. How they came to be placed with Tommy Rouse and his label I don't know????
  19. Rouser was after Fairmount, they did the edit/remix, just cut parts out. It even uses the Fairmount number.
  20. The address for Pecle is 1834 West Girard Avenue, Philadelphia, the same as Quaker Town. LT as stated in the 45 cats comments going by the numbering changed to Quakertown after this solitary release. Liberty Bell as stated also at the same address and shares the same numbering system. Frankie Beverley had some connection with Quakertown/Pecle (Butlers on Liberty Bell as well as the publishing on WTFIW) but Fairmount probably had no connection other than recording Beverley and his group.
  21. I knew you had one mate, and heard of others but still a mighty rare 45.
  22. Rouser is out of Washington though, the others are Philly, Publishing won't or shouldn't change because it is reissued
  23. Looks like a six, definitely not 11 (Nov.) The connection is the production company behind the recordings, not relation to the labels as far as I know.
