Here's A Stormer For You
Personally got sick of hearing this at one time. Not heard so much now. However, IMHO it's pretty tame in comparison to her superb double sider "Starting The Hurt All Over Again" and "Just Look What You Have Done".

The Sheer Brilliance Of Kent
Can't agree more Kenny, worth the cost of the cd for the sleeve notes alone. As for boots, not seen any boots in venues but you can get every Kent track on the net if you no where to look, along with Grapevine, Goldmine etc.

Who Wouldn't You Play
I know you wasn't there, you was drunk in Sheffield so I was told I asked if you are still sufferiing cause I think it may have clouded your judgement regarding Lulu or Patti Haven' t got Lulu version on PC but here's Patti's effort which pisses all over Lulu IMHO

Who Wouldn't You Play
The desperate comment wasn't aimed at you directly, it's aimed at anyone who has to resort to Elvis, Dolly f***** Parton or bloody Lulu.
-
Who Wouldn't You Play
If my opinion doesn't count then why ask what I wouldn't play or anyone else for that matter who wishes to comment? As this topic relates directly to the Elvis track you played you are going to get a comment or two If you don't want my opinion don't ask if I have one you will get it whether you like it or not

Who Wouldn't You Play
With the Elvis track I would go by my ears, and not play it. I actually love Elvis, the only other artist I listen to outside of soul so not just saying this cause it's an Elvis track. Must be desperate to be different if you have to resort to Elvis as well IMHO. There is so much unknown/forgotten, lesser/semi known soul/northern soul out there that can be played to make you different from other DJ's, not just expensive but 100's of cheap 45's.

This Weekends Plays
I wouldn't think for a minute you would Davie. Like I said it is better than a lot of the crap thats played under the banner of R&B, still think there's so much soul out there though before stuff like this gets played, IMHO.

This Weekends Plays
maybe but if they don't recognise the voice of Elvis then their ear 'oles must be painted on
-
This Weekends Plays
No idea who it was, must have been so shit faced it affected their hearing or their lug 'oles were painted on Posted soundfile in sounds, must say it's better than some of the rock and roll/R&B played at venues

Buying Blind (or Is That Deaf?)
Don't buy blind anymore, usually get to hear something I'm interested in before buying these days, haven't the money to waste on shite anyway Back when I built up my first collection bought loads blind, too many to mention but usually from dealers who knew what my tastes was. Rarely bought of lists back then either as most nighters were full of record dealers and sales boxes.

Cover Me Bad
Martin Brogan did me a tape in the 80's of cover versions by British artists, not seen or heard the tape for 15 years or so but will try and find it, bet there are some stinkers on it
