Supremes " Take A Look Inside"
People who only play tracks off the original format?!

Discogs Query
You know, I've often wondered if some people just use Discogs as an interest free payday loan Wonga.com substitute. Sell a record you have "in stock", get the money, use it for a couple of weeks, say you can't find it, then refund when you've been paid. Maybe I just have a suspicious and devious mind. And maybe you'll ALL be trying this now...

Dusty Springfield
The mono/stereo promo seems to be more common too. Has this been getting played recently, then?

Dusty Springfield
was one last week for $200... oh, or get it off Angus for £70 might be more sensible. Brilliant track...

I'm not seeing it with Lenny Curtis. Look like two different records? See what you mean about the Empires, though...

Reduced 45S - Uk And Us
A few decent records for the soul fan on a budget... Paypal preferred, P&P extra, PM to reserve. FOR SALE 45s: 1. DEBRA JOHNSON "To Get Love You've Got To Bring Love" (100 Club 6T 19) EX £45 £40 The 24th anniversary single and for me, one of the best! Few light scuffs, decent EX copy. Why do people pay £50 for the bootleg of this?! P&P extra, paypal preferred. PM to reserve, ta! 2. EDDIE KENDRICKS "Date With The Rain" b/w "Born Again" (US Tamla) EX £30 £25 Classic 70s, always sounds fresh! This copy is in excellent condition BUT the flipside has scuffs and marks and plays with a few ticks and pops (more like VG). "Date With the Rain" plays brilliant, though with no problems! Usually sells for £40+ 3. HAZE "I Do Love My Lady" (US ASI) EX £5 Seventies soul. £15 on Manship. 4. BARBARA LEWIS "Hello Stranger" (UK London) NOC VG+ £10 £5 Rare first 1963 UK release (not red label Atlantic), in original company sleeve. No centre and few surface scuffs, plays fine. Books at £30. 5. Detroit Spinners "I've Got To Make It On My Own" (UK Atlantic K 10571) M- £50 £30 Great seventies track, apparently withdrawn in the UK - and no US release exists on 45. Lovely clean copy in Atlantic company sleeve. 6. The Goodees "Condition Red" b/w "Didn't Know Love Was So Good" (US Hip) EX £5 £3 Great doom-laden girl group classic, but has anyone flipped this? 7. Tom Jones "The Lonely One" (UK Decca) EX £4 £3 Great 1967 mod sound, still pretty under the radar . 8. BENNY GORDON "All The Love I Got" (Estill) EX £8 £5 Alternate version to the Wand release - label says 1959? 9. SOUND OF EXCITEMENT "Please Don't Cry" (US Catamount) EX £10 £20 on Manship. 10. ELVIS PRESLEY "Rubberneckin'" b/w "Don't Cry Daddy" (UK RCA) VG+ £5 Great forgotten stomper by obscure artist. Disc has light scuffs, plays fine. Comes in picture sleeve (think this guy might be white) which is a bit tatty, but present. Bargain copy... ALBUM The Elgins "Darling Baby" (UK Tamla Motown STML 11081) ex/ex £40 £25 One of the rarer UK Motown albums, great stereo copy.

Owls Effort No1
Have you thought about photocopying any? I'd be interested to see an 80s perspective of the scene, being too young at the time. Or I suppose you could scan them and post them up, although I can never really be bothered looking at things like that on-screen, prefer hard copies...

Terry Lindsey President
Sorry to be a harbinger of doom, but is it not more likely that's a letraset "A"? Only reason I'm saying that is, if you look closely it looks like it's flaking off - ink doesn't tend to do that, if the ink came off the paper would too and would look like a tear with white paper underneath, not yellow. Just a theory... Amazing record, though, absolutely love it - did it come out on a US label under another name, or am I getting mixed up?

Counterfeit Records
Playing devil's advocate, I did find myself pondering the possibility that someone could get a Darrell Banks London demo, scrub off the label and glue on a new black and silver version of the label. Cut round the centre prongs with a sharp scalpel until you got it bang on. If you botched it, just scrub off the label and keep going until you got it right. Printing silver ink onto black paper? Not exactly difficult...

Vinyl Sales - Just How Well ?
Not read the article linked to, but all the stories "vinyl sales up by 50%, CD sales fallen by 20%" kinda things basically state that vinyl sales are up from 1% of the market-place to 1.5% of the market, and CD sales are down from 80% to 65%. Politicans love spinning statistics to illustrate whatever point they're trying to (falsely) claim...

What's Your Favourite Funk 45
An old Jazzman Gerald tape, still got mine somewhere. Some amazing stuff on there, still rare to this day... Pretty much anything by Mickey & the Soul Generation is awesome. "Iron Leg" still sounds great to this day, but "How Good Is Good" is just an out and out killer...

John Manship Auction Results 26 - 11 - 2014
There's two slightly different versions of "Your Love Is Fading" on Suemi. This release has "Lonely Room" on the flip, and the sales blurb states Keb darge played this as a funk spin? Pretty sure that was "It's A Man's World" - the flip of the other release. Mind you, never actually heard "Lonely Room" - maybe it's a funk killer too...

Darrell Banks - Open The Door To Your Heart 2014 London
Quote from DENBO: "I'm convinced Richard, even before seeing the videos. The reason why? Because I know TWO people that I'd trust with my lifetime's collection, who are not on these social media sites and who simply don't go to venues anymore, anywhere. These two guys have had two separate, totally unrelated copies in their hands. For me, that's good enough, and I'm normally very suspicious of things until I've seen them for myself." Did anyone ever get to the bottom of the "other two copies"?

Johnny & The Attractions "coming On The Scene" (Trojan 10")
Thanks Pete, I was already aware of the seller. Who it would appear doesn't stock the record I'm looking for. Any other suggestions?! It's the kind of record I could imagine you buying then deciding an MP3 would do before flogging the record!

Johnny & The Attractions "coming On The Scene" (Trojan 10")
Do you think I haven't tried googling? Do you think I've not searched ebay? Do you think I've not checked Discogs? I asked because somebody on here might have a copy and no longer requires it. Thanks for your help though.
