  1. Just a few of a minefield of choice Barbara Lynn - Take Your Love and Run Jackie Day - Before it's Too Late Homer Banks - A Lot of Love Inez and Charlie Foxx - No Stranger to Love Robert Parker - Lets go baby (where the action is) + anything on the Capitol Soul Series 66 and such like. I think back in the day the choice of soul music supplied by the major (and minor) British labels was phenomenal to say the least. Regards
  2. Not forgetting "Don't Shut Me Out" on One-derful Great track and so underestimated (IMO) Liz Lands RIP
  3. Royal Esquires and Chris Cerf now sold Jerry Fuller - I Get Carried Away - Challenge Demo VG++ (Light Scuffs and small wol) £75 PM if interested Regards
  4. Looking at the scans below, wondering why the credits are not the same, "Arranged by" Issue - Mark Higgins Demo - Monk Higgins Any thoughts? Regards
  5. Am I hearing right, does he play Johnnie Moore (Eddie Garrigan) after Checkerboard Squares (@ 23mins) and then again after Blue Sharks (@ 43mins)? or have I missed a gap somewhere and it was two different sets? Regards
  6. 56 minutes to sell (well less than that), surprised it took that long. Such a great record. Regards
  7. You could only be there by virtue of age and/or knowledge, thankfully the music lives and moves on. Regards
  8. Perhaps by the guy that fronted "sports night" and was out to take advantage of the northern scene as a sideline. Regards and a happy new year.
  9. Instu came out on 2nd lp, but not a sniff of the vocal Regards Bob

Want the following (at the right price of course) Sparkels - Try Love - Old Town SORTED THANKS Soul Joe Clements - Ever Ever - Plexium Regards
  11. Very sad news indeed about such a loss, RIP and commiserations. Brilliant and very atmospheric record was Rescue Me (as too were her others). Lady reaffirmed Chicago meant business with Detroit, from which (IMO) the northern scene has benefited from greatly. Regards Bob
  12. I had a good time and not me baby were both booted in the 70's as I recall, but who booted them? They were on a light blue blank label (molded) however the scratches in the run out groove of the LET wer very similar to the original (was it the same for the Silohettes?) Regards
  13. Boots Randolph can be found on loads of recordings, he also has his own web page (link below) The Benny Hill track is "Yakety Sax" https://www.bootsrandolph.com/ Regards

  19. In the words of Elvis (or whoever wrote it) "I GOT STUNG" Thanks to the guys on here I got sorted with a problem! Good on you Chalky and Modernsoul Only advice is to go through trusted source.
  20. To be fair, the first boot (deep purple label around 74) is perhaps rarer than the original Impact release and when its said and done "I thought you were mine" on ABC was not the first issue. Again are we talking rarity or first issue?
  21. Think Martha and Vandellas was Jan 78, seem to recall having a lift with Chris King to Wigan and returning with Mark Hodges. Regards
  22. You'll perhaps kick yourself when this finally goes massive thanks to the efforts of Steve Guarani (or perhaps not!!!!). Someone got a bargain "methinks" Regards
