Why Do Sellers Delete Sold Record Prices
Dave I do this, am one of the guilty ones and can honestly say I don't give it a second thought when I do it - it just seemed like a good place to put the "SOLD" bit, no alterior motive other than letting people know not to waste their time P.M.'ing me for the disc in question, coz it's gorrn!! I feel suitably chastised & will cease this heinious crime as from now!!! Des

Allnighter Enticer
I think it's now an established fact that there are too many venues, and too many D.J.'s ......but would we rather have a closed shop with a handful of venues and a handful of D.J.'s/promoters controlling everything, with banning orders dished out to those who dissent against those in charge, how do we achieve a happy medium? Afro Blues Quintet +1
This has been played by Johnny Beggs for a few years now, was probably played before that, and probably before that, so it isn't a new "discovery" by a long chalk, but is largely unknown, by the "masses". I remember having a copy about 7 or 8 Years ago and being pretty underwhelmed by it, though it does sound a lot, lot better out loud! Des Parker

Worst Flip Sides
The "Four Chaps" were "The Vogues" who thought it would be a good idea to cash in on the British Invasion, by putting out a disc in that ilk, complete with fake accents, and even changing their name for the disc. If it was done for a "joke" the joke was certainly on them. Des Parker

Amazing Brothers Of Soul Footage

Dickie & The Ebb Tides
Excuse my faux pas, but I've never heard the record - I know it's pretty tough, is it Soul, Doo wap, Group, or any good, how would you describe it? Des Parker

Allnighters
I can't get my head round this, assuming it's not some sort of spoof! (It's Not April 1st is it) Mr Tommy wants to come in and flyer his event at an event he has no intention of coming into, which he's more or less been able to do via a "flyer table", and now has some sort of problem with the promotion!! I think you're all being a little unfair to somebody with a few "difficulties" to say the least - best comedy post of the Year!!!!!! DISCUSS - There is no discussion, you're daft Tom. Des Parker
-
Blue Max Rip
Just turned on the computer this morning and can't believe what I've read! Only got to know Max in the last 10 Years or so, but one of the absolute cornerstones of the Soul scene in the Midlands, who I naively thought would be around forever - I'm absolutely gutted. RIP mate Des Parker
-
The Michigan Move - Phonetics Band
The sound quality of this "reissue" is terrible, AND the labels are on the wrong sides!!! Bearing this in mind, the person who was responsible for these, recently offered me some at the bargain, wholesale price of £25 each, though I suppose they are "Mint". I still think there's a decimal point missing in that quote, but maybe this is a hot item, what do I know. Confused Des Parker

Id Track Please

That Delayed Monday Feeling
Out on Friday at "Solid Hit Soul", Saturday at "Go Go Children", Sunday at "Marrs Bar". All different in style, but similar in that they were ALL busy, and ALL brilliant in their own way - NO DOOM & GLOOM in my weekend (apart from only having 11 Hours sleep over the 3 nights) Des Parker

Allnighter Issues
Once you get over the fact that a large percentage of the Soul scene D.J.'s (or wants to D.J.) and therefore needs a sufficiant amount of venues to accomodate this, the varience of musical styles (1950's to last week!) the age group (from 16 to 60 plus) the "personal agendas" & "intolerances" of many of those "on the scene" , then we'll get a unified thing going on Des Parker
