Pancho Villa did put a 45 out on Pee Vee 100, "Ain't That Bad", which also came out on "Symbol" records , though whether that's the same cut, I don't know. So, apart from yourselves, "The Shaynes" and "Pancho Villa" did anyone else record for "Pee Vee" records. Des Parker

We all know that there are some people who seriously over price their records, often doubling and even tripling the percieved value of a disc (and I'm NOT talking about major dealers here) and there are those that wilfully decieve the buyer, trying to pass off reissues as originals, deliberately lying about the number of copies about etc etc. Unfortunately, ripping people off seems to have some sort of kudos on the Soul scene, whereas selling vinyl competitively is seen as what, at least 3 different dealers have told me is "spoiling it for everybody" Des Parker

The "Eric & Vikings" Acetate was originally Guy Hennigans, whereas the Barbara Mercer Acetate came via yourself Dave, and is of more recent vintage. Des Parker

Adey Pierce got the 12" Acetate off someone related to someone involved with "Sidra" (if you know what I mean) as well as at least 1 copy of the tough "Gwen Owens" on "Velgo". The Acetate has a prominent hiss throughout, and unless it's my system (I did have the acetate in my posession at one stage) it's pretty much unplayable, but it is a fantastic and historic piece of memorabilia, which I could not justify keeping, so off to E Bay it went. Unfortunately there seems to be a little confusion regarding acetates - If you own an acetate (even if it contains an unissued track) it doesn't follow that you legally own any rights to that piece of music, or does it - I think you just own "a disc", and nothing more, am I right? I always preferred the version of "She Kissed Me" on "Fairmount", which is a tad slower. Also "Jay J. Jones - I Don't Know About You"on V-Tone uses the same backing as "She Tried To Kiss Me". There was also another "Butlers" on Parkway, but this is a White rock/pop combo, so be wary. Des Parker

It staggers me to think that I first heard this spun by Keb Darge at Stafford 25 Years ago, and it's been consistently played Year in Year out since then. It also came out on an album, I think entitled "West Coast Review" or something like that. Des Parker

As mentioned previously, the intro for the "Go Teams - Doin It Right" is sampled from "Cindy Gibson - I'll Always Love You - General American" Des Parker

The Go Team sampled "Cindy Gibson - I'll Always Love You - General American" and PAID Frank Bendinelli (producer of CG) to do so, top marks!! Des Parker P.S. Frank loves it, but there again he's more interested in Music than the value of a bit of plastic (poor deluded fool, or is he?)

In reply to an earlier post, the "Four Chaps" ARE the "Fenways" doing a bit of a tongue in cheek spoof, bearing in mind that "True Lovers" was possibly intended as the "B" side, though the joke has been lost on me, for one! Des Parker
