  7. Hi folks here's the link to Andy Whitmore- (That funky kid) on Fraser Dunn's Subcity radio show from Saturday 22nd June. Outstanding doesn't cover it......A complete education for me....sublime indeed! https://www.subcity.org/shows/soulfulallsorts/8b86c/

Mello Souls ticks every box that I love about northern soul..it's got the lot....wot a tune!!!!....if I had the cash I'd go my whole tank on it, seeing as I don't, and unless a few hundred turn up...I'll just keep stomping my heart out when ever I'm lucky enough to hear it at a soul doo. The added magic of hearing it and being around when Butch first played it along with many of the folk on here stays with me forever...the faces of desperation to get to the dance floor when ever he played it is a kin to discovering you've got the six numbers on Satuday night.....and knowing its still doing that over 25 years later is just sublime. Belter...Stomper....Thumper....as good as it gets for sure!!!!
  10. Jim .....can't remember seeing the 689 mix for sale....absolutely the harder of the 2 issues to pick up. For me the 689 mix is the better of the 2, not as polished as the first one...although either copy is fab Detroit

  18. I remember we'd stopped a services on the way back from Mexboro or chesterfield and Gaz Kellet had a pair of kids sunglasses on...then proceeding to stuff buscuits between his eyes and the sunglasses, and telling us the need to be individual.....Jock was actually on the floor laughing so hard, but managed enough to say can you believe this guys is a bank manager....I literally wet myself!!
