Richard Paradise Album - Was Lost In The Post
Hi All It looks like I may have recently lost a record from the US for the first time in a very long time! Sod's Law says that it's happened with a rare one as it's the LP by Richard Paradise (featuring 'Let me stay') I bought it from a reputable dealer and it's now 6 weeks since he sent it. I know there was the postal strike at the time so it is possible it may still turn up? (fingers crossed) I know it's a long shot but I would ask folks to keep their eyes open for me? If you see one for sale or if anyone gets offered one in the near future (or in the last few weeks even!) please contact me by PM? I'm NOT saying that if you see one or you get offered one it will be my copy but like I said it's a long shot and worth mentioning on here methinks? For the record the one that went on eBay in October went to a collector in Georgia, USA! Cheers Steve ps No smart arse 'Paradise Lost' quips either

Gabin Feat Dee Dee Bridgewater - Into My Soul
Peeps A friend of mine (honest I do have one!) is desperate for a 12" vinyl copy of Gabin feat Dee Dee Bridgewater - Into my soul (from 2005) He has deepish pockets so please feel free to nail his hat on and make yourself a few bob in the process (hee hee) Anyone who has a copy for sale please let me know so my mate will stop pestering me? Cheers Steve

Jesse Fisher On Way Out Promo?
Hee Hee This has restored my faith in you Cliff (not that i'd ever lost it in you, it's just a figure of speech!) I knew when someone said the opposite of what you said re Quality of Red/White over Multi, I knew it'd be eating you up and you would JUST have to find the answer out for once and for all! Although I note you haven't gone into decimal places on the run out like Mr Manship does Top marks fella, you didn't let me down btw I have heard this played-out loads over the last few years BUT I think I could handle more multiple plays for a few more months yet despite what Chalky says Cheers Steve

Alan Pollard R.i.p
I am so so sad inside hearing this terrible news. Condolences to Alan's family. Alan was a lovely man with brilliant taste in music and he will be sorely missed. RIP big fella Steve

Walter Wilson
His 'Loving you comes easy' on Vibration is a fabulous early 70's crossover dancer - well recommended 'I agree 100% on 'Sleep won't come' Totally brilliant unreleased 70's dancer as good as 'nine times/i got the need/just having your love etc' a potentially monsterous record! Cheers Steve

Jesse Fisher On Way Out Promo?
Just a point of order Mike, it was 85p not a quid cos I bought it at the same time from Soul Bowl and I never forget how much I pay for a record Have replaced it since with a Red/White copy but I'm now having second thoughts, especially if the multi colored one has better fidelity Cheers Steve

Josie Jo Armstead - Steppin' Stones - Truth Lp
Hi Jock The LP never came out unless there's test pressings of it (which would be nice!). Probably suffered the same as the Sandra Wright LP due to Stax' demise? From memory, that track was called summat like 'He moves me'? Brilliant midtempo, sort of Almeta Latimore ish BUT the quality of the recording weren't good and sounded muffled played out (from memory?) Cheers Steve

Rare Lp Tracks
Hiya Binsy If Bob & Gav want me to do the 'LP only' set again at Yarmouth in April it will be the 4th year on the run! And as usual, I'll make sure that there will be no tracks played from previous years either! Pressure will be on again as at midnight folks have to dance to 'em too! Although I'll have to watch out for the Soul detective's as I got caught out last year with a couple tracks that got released on Outer Mongolian 45's that I wasn't aware of And to round it off, it will be me and you and Bully in the car park at 6.30 a.m. Cheers Steve

Johnny Taylor - What About My Love - Beverley Glen
Benji's right, it's way too long for the 45 and it does affect the sound when played out! Best bet is the Beverley Glenn 12" same length but dem grooves are further apart and sounds damn fine when played out! Chers Steve

Dells - Whatever Turns You On
Oops! I really must pay more attention Mr Maleady So can we claim it as an Orwell spin Or is it a TJ spin Or is it a Biff SITS spin Who cares, it's a beast of a tune that should be massive! And what do you mean 'selling mode' you cheeky get btw Just listened to the original by Billy Ocean, as posted on SS by Roger Williams (nice one Rog!) Actually a very good track BUT the Dells is the one for me, the vocals are killer! Cheers Steve
