  7. Did this get a general release ? Or has anyone had one ?? Info would be great
  8. Given current demand i'd say £500 easy in nice condition, is the demo or issue more ££ ?? i turned down £450 a few months back for a minty demo
  9. I actually know this guy pretty well, yes he has been ill of late and yes he has had a rough time thru the soul scene - he did his best to keep it ovo but alas the £3 carver boys playin records on the dr marten label made him sell up . He is a real nice person & so is his mrs - but be fair it's a great speech for an eBay sale !! I can vouch I looked thru the box and it was 100% original and tasty too !!
  10. Er I have the Palmer one - looks fab - see my profile pic
  11. Anything with a plastic arm and no counter weight is crap and will damage records certainly styrene ones - trust me - avoid
  12. Right, for what it's worth here goes, The Wheel on sunday has launched a thousand other sunday soul sessions, it's due to the hard work of Dj's and quality records that keep it going, but not one and i mean NOT ONE has EVER compared to the wheel, for those that dig, moan and for those that don't get it, it's simple, great records and a fine set of people, THAT'S THE WHEEL, Bricks are unimportant, people and sounds really do matter, its a great club and as prev stated in another post, the 2nd room plays a fine mix of authentic 60's RnB,Ska, and general sounds that really work, Great records will always be that, great!!, Today's soul fans have matured, its a meeting place, a drink in monroe's, a bite to eat, a dance, a drink, a good time! Long live the wheel, Still the business twice a month. Ozz Stoke on trent
  13. British pic sleeve is mega hard to come by - also the Gordy 7 demo is tough - my wife came down the church to this at my wedding last year - better than here comes the bride eh ? Oh and the vicar looked like David Ruffin too !!
  14. I have an orange issue , and I would never play it out , even if nobody that night had a blue one lurking in a box , I have witnessed far too many djs , some of which have only been into northern for a few years playing del larks tomangoes etc all on 5 quid boots - respect due to a scene that's always evolved around rare records and always will , peace out
  15. What about major labels not paying there artists royalties ?? MGM Capitol bell etc all guilty of it- great we have some fabulous music and on original labels , however there are lots of bitter artists still with us that to this day have had little or no payout - some totally unaware that there recordings were released in other countries - think on peeps .
  16. Aha !! I know this well !! As I bought it covered up as jimmy Scott your a runaround about 20 years ago from rob jones - it is from memory Richard Torrance on Capitol British released think it was from around 78 / when I took the label off it was a uk Capitol demo- never seen an issue or demo since ! Think I paid £30 was I robbed ?? Lol

Martyn Ellis used to hire Johnny Beggs records at the torch !
  18. Ridge dip towards the centre label indicates a ny press on the orange - I almost bought a blue original with a crack split right across one side for £700 - I didn't buy it !! Still a great sound from mr p funks one time girlfriend
  19. Yep, I'd say it was , the label is too good , also being pressed later indicates the missing stamp while retaining the matrix number - possibly new masters cut from a direct tape source - whoever was behind it made a pretty fine job and being a completely different coloured label it was not made to deceive ? Interesting debate this one
