  1. Bit steep considering what he paid for it.........exactly $1, he bought 45,000 records for a buck apiece that were basically EMI's old stock, sadly whoever was responsible for their sales hadn't got a clue about rare soul and this was included in the pile, that's the reason for the green sticker on the label

Glad you all liked the live clip, that was filmed at our Dig Deeper show here in Brooklyn a few months ago, from start to finish that weekend all 4 of the guys were knockout, one of the best shows we've ever put on - and if you've seen the list of singers that covers that really means something. You can see/hear more on our site: www.myspace.com/digdeepernyc This month we've got Bobby Patterson and next month the lovely Barbara Stant, we get people from all over Europe/US for the shows every month, hope a few more of you can make it, we'd love to welcome you, Regards, Michael and Richard, Dig Deeper NYC
  3. Should set up a dummy ebay ID to simply buy everything scammers like this list and not pay. Plus leave entertaining feedback of course.

You could have fun trying to buy all the different European picture sleeve variations of Julien Covey, have seen a myriad variations over the years Sarolta's story is epic, she was proposed to by not one but two of the Bee Gees and is now locked up in her native Hungary for embezzlement!!
  6. 1.5k?? Bought an Ex Quality issue on ebay 2 years ago for $550, sold it for c. $900
  7. 44 Larry and the Blue Notes - you list it twice but it actually came out 5 (!!) times, all with different flips (and all of them terrible), the a-side is totally not a soul 45, it's one of the most aggresively awesome garage records ever recorded, have 2 copies floating around here, big fave sound Pretty sure have seen a Charay lp by the Dirte 4 float through ebay too.....
  8. ps other than me and Tony have never heard of anyone else in the US with one (expecting the usual reply in 5.1 microseconds from boba to the contrary mind you haha, hi Bob! )
  9. Oops, figured the site would auto-asterisk it! Like said, think Tony got the 1st, v impressed Andy has 2 nice copies, someone should make him an offer for one! And although it's not Northern, wait til you hear the flip (I'm too Luddite to be able to post clips but Nev if the other side of yours cleaned up better than the auction soundfile you could maybe stick it up)
  10. I've seen 3 go though ebay in the last 5 or so years so guess I missed one, I was 2nd bidder on the first one - have a feeling it went to Tony Janda in Chicago but maybe was the one Andy D has, either way it was pretty damn f*ck*d, vg-- is being more than generous, then I got the 2nd, plays vg+ on the Funky Popcorn side which Greg is right in saying we hammer over here at Dig Deeper, it's a beyond killer club sound, vg on ITMB as it's a quieter side, but have put ITMB on mixes and people always always jump on it, then this latest copy was very reasonable for the price Nev got it for mind you as yes it's a stupidly hard 45 to get - I tend to put the IDMB side together in my head with the Alice Rouzier and Little Joe "I love you" on Stone which is also genius, also Georgia and also impossible to find, actually got one of those almost the same time as the Daniel Madison, plus a Thomas Bailey & Flintstone's Band (also on Stone) and a John Bradley & Swinging Soul Seekers on Em-Jay, so that month felt like winning a jackpot of rare Georgia soul in one sweep
  11. I won your copy Mark, was very pleased with the price - glad you did well on it too - even got a few "well done" emails after the auction telling me what a steal had got it for so nice we're both happy, the Quality issue is just as hard as the Stop, eg Martin Koppel has been in Canada for donkeys years and had never even heard of it, personally into both sides, can't argue bit moddish, that's no bad thing for me, it's quality on Quality!
  12. Presume with Cruisin' the easy solution is make sure you're bidding on one with a picture sleeve, am sure they didn't copy that too
  13. Got a couple of unplayed stock copies here of Jack Jacobs "I believe it's alright" first come first served, one just sold yesterday for $230+ and have seen go for a good chunk more than that, great crossover, soundfile on Refosoul, paypal only, $5 p&p anywhere
  14. Cookie Jackson!!!
  15. Really like the stylized Pic Sleeve on this one, great graphics!
  16. It's also how Brent in Milwaukee found his Devils Bob, just $100 (please don't bang your head on a wall while reading that!!! )

Was talking to Jo Armstead about this - she said it was the worst record she'd ever written and started laughing, classic!!
  18. https://cgi.ebay.com/Gail-Nevels-RARE-northern-soul-45-on-Star-Track-listen_W0QQitemZ390126920063QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMusic_on_Vinyl?hash=item5ad560617f Funny, was one on ebay a month recently listed as "first time ever" on ebay and now another - anyone know if the same seller?? Got one of these for $5 off Gemm many, many moons ago - was my first ever purchase on Gemm, not a bad start - and sold it to Pete S if I remember rightly, lovely 45
  19. Sorry Flynny but yep, it's caught on with the funk boys, was still an "unknown" pretty much when you flogged yours I guess, we've all done it I'm sure Have only seen 2 go through ebay, both were from Craig Moerer....
  20. < A DJ Shadow spin.>> And a Dig Deeper spin for me, Dave G in upstate nY has one too, and another went through ebay recently, from Alabama of all places, heck of a version
  21. Amazing cut, Jackie at his best. Reason it never really got picked up on the UK scene is all the copies were snapped up years ago by the Spanish, Italian and French mod collectors, that's how I first heard it courtesy of Edu in Barcelona way back, got a nice mint copy right after that. It was only released in a limited run in France as Kirk Douglas, who was massive in France then, similar to their worship of Jerry Lewis and Mickey Rourke, funny that, agreed to fly over to Paris for the movie's premier there so they put it out to specially mark the event. Have never head the full BO (Bande Originale) lp, very intrigued to hear the Marge Dodson cut if anyone has any insight on that!??
