And just for a laugh I rotated and scaled my efforts to match the latest NASA/SDO Continuum data , none too shabby from an old boy with DSLR , 20 frames and an atmosphere to contend with ... (the Solar Dynamics Observatory sits in orbit about 36,000 Km above us ) Top half courtesy of NASA/SDO and the EVE , AIA and HMI science teams , lower half courtesy of Canon EOS 1000D , Tal 100RS 'scope , 3x Barlow , Baader ND3.8 Imaging Solar Film and OIII filter.
