I think that was the beauty of the northerm Soul scene back then things did just quickly come and go with all sorts of wierd things being played without too much navel gazing about OVO, label variations and rarity !

A Mecca spin - its on one of the Mecca Cds. I think album is a 'fake' soundtrack - the film does not exist , thinks it is just a bit of a blaxploitation parody.

I was well beaten for a sealed copy a few weeks back - went for $153. Mind sealed copies are at a premium.

Don't make the same mistake as others Ian - be sure to have it proof read it over and over and played too before final pressing. PM me and I'll let you have my address - I've got bags of time on my hands.

I will only play LP only tracks if they are near the end of the side - that way I can cut them down so they fit in my Swan flightcase. I always play 'Please Give Me One More Chance' from the Clyde McPhatter album. Sadly I have not played 'Anyone Can Tell' for some time now :o(

don't think I ever win anything - and all of my items are low value - if I put my bid in early. Just allows opposing bidders to edge up ahead of you. They can't do that if you snipe or manually submit with seconds to go.

Surely acetates only have value if a track is unavailable elsewhere - e.g. funny by Sam Dees - only know of two. But when a record is released what is the point? there might be hundreds of acetates - they might acetate copies of other acetates - there is absolutely no provenance to most of them and you can't play them because they will wear out !

someone mentioned The Exciters Caviar album, this is my favourite album only track... take on Jaibi...

Only the Persuasions are Acapella i.e. sung without backing - the others were sung with backing then mixed with the backing tracks removed - a different kettle of fish altogether !

Mind you ought to have that red face after playing 'I'm Your Pimp' (couldn't find a smiley with a hat to side and a limp !!)
