Of Soul Sounds infamy. What's the name of his 'minder' who travelled with him back in the day?

Playing boots in the 21st Century...
In reply to Joey, it was Jeff king who booted on Soul Sounds. He went to prison for it. As soon as they were booted along with Chris Burton OOTP stuff and Simon Soussan many DJs stopped playing them (not all due to the demand to hear them) but many copies were still sold to the club goers, I know because I was buying wholesale from Chris and Twink was selling them for me and him at Wigan on a weekly basis. Don't forget at the time new tunes were being found on a weekly basis and people moved on to the 'latest tunes'. I can honestly say that when I was DJing in the 1968 to 73 era, I never played a bootleg. Still only play originals as well, so nothing has changed as far as I'm concerned 👍

Jazz expert required
Hi Roburt I was simply quoting what I was told by my pal. I'll get him to check his facts but it was definitely 1943 when his father bought the records. Stay safe Julian

Jazz expert required
A friend's father has recently died. In 1943 his ship was in new York for 3 months for repairs. Being a jazz fan, he scoured the record shops for vinyl Lps and 45s. My pal thinks some may be quite rare. Does anyone know of any jazz specialist in the UK who may be able to help. Obviously I know of john tetfeller but would prefer to deal with UK. TIA

Least Memorable/most Disappointing Live Soul Act
Martha Reeves a couple of years ago in Manchester. She was awful and worse still, she kept trying to sing Jackie Wilson tunes. Terrible

Northern Soul Auction - Wessex auctions 6th march
Just received the 45 purchased. Not an expensive record but bloody hell they charged £12 for p & p. Ok the registered bit is £7.80 ( I think) but it was in the cheapest box with no stiffeners. Considering they made approx 50% in selling and buyers commission you'd have thought they could have done at cost. Moan over
