  1. Yes, a bit like the Four Vandals 45. Fortunately some people are more honest than others. Julian
  2. It was a tailor made by Levine in 1999? ( I might be out by a year or two). Interstingly, I was talking to Sidney about this 45 about 2 years ago and he told me that Ian suggested they put it out as a 60s previously unissued release ( now, where have I heard that before?)Anyway Sid refused so it was issued at the same time as the Frank Wilson,Herman griffin etc 45s ( I think there were 7 in total). Got my copy signed by Sidney at the time. Just been repressed by someone in the Stoke area I believe and is readily available at around a tenner (I understand that it's in lighter vinyl than the original) Julian
  3. I seem to recall that we had a thriving soul scene in;- Huddersfield Wakefield Leeds Bradford Halifax Normanton Selby etc I know, 'cause I DJed at most of them! all going whilst the Twisted Wheel was still open. Julian
  4. Got a US Parkway P933 labeled Twelth of never and Here she comes. Deadwax reads P933-A and P933-B in that order. Trouble is, the 'Here she comes' side isn't that track it's a slowish tune that starts with " Lips that taste like wine, aren't mine anymore". Anybody shed any light on this one? Value, rarity etc. Julian

Leeds folk:- Rob Lemoine, Dennis Billingham, Mike Eastwood, Kenny & Bev Coleman Think Graham & Sandra Slater and Gary & Marilyn Chatburn were there as well. + others forgotten. Happy days Julian

  19. Hi Pete had this lately with a Richie Adams - cost me an extra £25 in tax and PO handling charge , made a cheapish 45 into a reasonably priced 45! I emailed the seller to tell them not to do it in future as it would detract from people bidding. Won a high price item from same seller - he took what I said on board and put the decimal point in the price in the wrong place, therefore no customs! Might be worth emailing seller before bidding.

Used to see Frank regularly at the Mecca - he used to write an events type 'diary' for Blues and Soul ( I seem to remember) + details of the events he visited + the people he met. For the folk on here with the old B&S ( Rob Wigley got all mine!!!) you should be able to find a reference to my wife's bottom being nice!!! ( all these years later, it's still not bad). Last time I saw Frank was at the filming of SWONS at the Victoria & Albert Hotel in Manchester - had a good chat about the old days and also met up with the likes of Kegsy, Andy Simpson, Rob Bellars etc etc before doing our bit for Mr Levine! Julian
  21. Used to see him/them on a regular basis in and around Leeds/Halifax - Morley Town Hall was a regular haunt around '67 with them appearing fairly regularly along with other groups Root & Jenny Jackson, Victor Brox and his Blues train etc etc. For the scooter boys, I used to travel on a blue and white Lambretta GT200 - wonder where it is now? Happy days Julian
