One of the greatest soul singers ever for me. Would be wonderful if best wishes from his fans could be passed on. KTF. Drew.
  2. Nice to meet and listen to your good self Joan. The Blond Witch Bitter was kickin' in as the night wore on so my apols for getting confused (which isn't hard believe me). Crackin' night I'm sure you will agree. KTF. Drew.
  3. Cheers SH. Quality choon. Played out loud this is awesome. KTF. Drew.
  4. Thanks fella. KTF. Drew.
  5. .............last night at A Taste Of Honey: I Ain't Going Nowhere.........Jimmy Read Jnr and; Gigi........Talmage Armstrong and the (something or others). Joan or anyone else able to post up sound files please? KTF. Drew.
  6. I'll take this in the way I think it's meant Nev. Better than the Temps? KTF. Drew.
  7. Just been looking at The Hitsville Site and Dave Moore's record review section. The Temptations Gonna Give Her All the love I Got was one of the records at the youth club that first got me into this music but just listend to as version by Benny Gordon. Bloody awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! You can find it on The Soulclub Jukebox. Better than the Temps!!! What do you think? The more I play it I think so!!! KTF. Drew
  8. Quality!! You are the funniest man on here Bearsy KTF. Drew.
  9. The answer for me Mark is both. The buzz of getting up to a record that I love at a soul do or one that I think "this sounds good" and it is, is wonderful, but I also get hours of enjoyment from listening at home. Thank goodness for the 'tinternet' and of course The Soulclub Jukebox (and other sites). Either way, as a 'returnee' (of around 6yrs now) I am hearing wonderful 'new to me' stuff all of the time!!!!!!! KTF. Drew.
  10. I guess late at night for me, usualy when I've had a drink!!!!!!!!!! I try to visit the site during the day at work. Since I've been unable to post at work for the last few months I've got more work done!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which is you on the photo Ed? KTF. Drew.
  11. Received mine a couple of days ago but this is the first chance I've had to say thanks Richard. Not played all yet but some belting stuff so far. Plenty of 'new to me' tunes (which isn't hard) as well. Top fella. Have put a healthy donation behind the bar of my local as promised!!!! Me not being a collector of records, The Gary Glitter Fan thought that I had ordered something dodgy when she found a brownpaper parcel from the states on the doorstep!!!!!!!! KTF. Drew.

Not played the random plays on The Soul Club Jukebox for a week or two but along with stuff posted on here it's a cracking way for me to hear 'new to me' tunes. Just listened to two belters.............Ain't You Glad You Chose Love. Gladys Knight and The Pips....and......Deena Johnson I'm a Sad Girl. Actually, the more I listen I think I have heard both before.................................the liqueur is kicking in now!!! KTF. Drew.
  14. You are proberbly right Pete. I have for years thought I had taped it as part of the Live Aid night. Either way, bloody fantastic bit of the Motown 25yrs show. KTF. Drew.
  15. Does'nt this just this just bring a smile to your face and a tear you your eye!!!! I've got this on video tape; seem to remember it was on TV as part of the Live Aid night (what year was that?) Not sure if that was the first time it was shown on British TV. Two wonderful groups but TFTs are favourites of mine . I could watch and listen to Levi Stubs all day every day!!!! Nice on. KTF. Drew.
  16. I can't remember if it was at Oldham Polish Club or the Middleton allnighter this saturday gone that I heard a tune that had the line in "I'm slowly molding" or just "slowly molding". At least I think that was what was being sang. No It wasn't Cody Black's Slowly Molding which I am familiar with. Anyone know of a song with those or similar words in also? KTF. Drew.
  17. Last week in The Nat.West main branch in Underbank, Stockport.......Barefootin' Robert Parker. I was in and out in a moment so don't know what was either side of it. KTF. Drew.

There's a record on The Soulclub Jukebox.....Make It Easy by Pinkooshins!!!!! Not the worst record I've ever heard but certainly the first time I've heard it. Quite catchy when played a few times. Strange name, is it a 'cover up' name and the origional artiste's name was lost forever when the cover-up material was removed so it stayed Pinkooshins? (has something like that ever happened! ). Is this someone more well known but who put the record out under a pseudonym? Or just a 'one off' group with a daft name? KTF. Drew
  19. Not soul related unfortunately but was once centre screen on th news being 'chaired' off a sit down picket line by the police at Eddie Shar's place in Warrington during his dipute with the print unions. Got 'bol**cked' when I got in work the next day as I'd phoned in sick to be there. KTF. Drew.

Only knew Mr Heartache before reading this post and sad news. Awesome record along with several others that I will now listen to reguarly. Listening to You Got what I Need as I type. Wonderful!! Makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!! RIP sir. KTF. Drew.
  21. Went to that little scout hut type disco (The Den) myself as a teenager. Don't remember it running for very long but yet another place where we in Stockport got NS in the mid 70's closer to home, along with Thursday nights at Brinny Youth Club. Such places then, youth clubs, local village hall dances etc all over the country are just as much part of the NS story as the big venues I suppose. KTF. Drew.
  22. I'm sure I heard this when I was at school!!!! KTF. Drew.

Thought a recent thread on this might have been taken up but maybe it's been done before? Anyway here goes: Top trumps wasn't around when I was a kid but I am oh so painfully aware of the game after hours of playing Manchester United Stars; World Cup Rugby Stars etc, etc Top trumps with my lad. Soul/ Northern Soul Top Trumps! What should be the scoring catagories? Longeverty; rarity; most plays what? Still thinking on mine but what would your NS Top Trump card have on it? KTF. Drew.

Any session involving The Four Tops. Bet there was some laughing and fooling around from Levi Stubbs. I smile whenever I see that man smile. KTF. Drew.
  25. This is awesome!!!! Does being unissued mean that it is likely not to be known to soulies/collecters from way back when? This, being played out and loud would have me up. KTF. Drew.
