  1. Last one for now from my old stomping ground Steve "giving it some" to a proper record too
  2. I know it sort of went off-topic a little but the guy (Giovanni) is going to be back on the programme again, so surely we need to wait to see if he get's through the next round, unless another thread will be opened at the time ?
  3. Carl was superb and I seem to remember Des Porter from Newark could mash it up like him, no clips of him sadly This guy is good though
  4. I know but I haven't seen any videos of the "positive"
  5. Was this the same Hank Diamond that had a single with his wife, Carol, on Workshop Jazz (Motown related) ?
  6. Can someone post some videos of what they would call "brilliant" dancing as all that seems to be happening here is "having a go" at "not good" dancing Please 😀
  7. Submitters often confuse Matrix details with catalogue numbers a lot
  8. Karl, I may have missed you finding out but he was deffo UK as teamed up with Tony Wilson (Originally from Trinidad) (Hot Chocolate) as The Soul Brothers and The Corduroys "This was the duo of Tony Wilson and Norman Oliver. It looks like Shel Talmy had signed them in the hopes that they would develop into "house songwriters" for his Planet label. They placed a few songs before launching separate solo careers (with Oliver changing his name to Oliver Norman). Wilson later founded Hot Chocolate and is probably best known today for co-writing "You Sexy Thing"." Tony mentions on his facebook face that Oliver Norman AKA Norman Oliver has passed away You may wish to contact him as I don't "do" facebook as you know https://www.facebook.com/TONY-Wilson-Musician-151153235046218/
  9. Perhaps Giovanni can get his spins a little better for the next round
  10. I agree, nice bloke and a credit for a man of 60 (of course we have seen "better" dancers), too may folks to condemn and criticise, He's on telly though and his wife was very proud as we should be.
  11. I Think you can just make out from this
  12. I am stumped on this one, but wonder if any of the names mentioned on this link might be able to help https://www.sirshambling.com/artists_2012/K/neal_kimble/index.php
  13. Again, they and it should, but only if it's true Karl, the scene only exists because of the music and there are still too many people asking "who played it first" or "what's it worth" as you know yourself. I was just pointing out the number one important thing is to credit the artist etc and then all the other fun and games can come after that as in "the order of things"
  14. I could not agree more, which is why since joining this site I have asked (and received so much help) in identifying artists and credits, labels etc. which is so much more important than "who played it first", unless someone, it seems, is maybe just trying to push their now ego to get false recognition.
  15. RIP Herley Here is a photo of him surrounded by the group and Barbara Mason last year at a dinner party to celebrate him.
  16. Sad news indeed All theses memories of dancing to great records by truly magnificent artists and they are slowly passing with time. R.I.P Lorraine
  17. I think it would have been 1979 Dave as in 1980 there was a huge fire and it took until 1988 to re-open, if memory serves me right.
  18. It's put in a clever way and to imply, just like a company saying "we have no plans at the moment to make redundancies" and then doing it a month later. My advice is to simply ask Sean and as others have said he will perhaps change the wording
  19. Seller based in Doncaster 100% feedback and 2272 feedbacks See how many Pervis Lee's have been sold 10 since October (one carver sold for £79 !!!!) to the best of my knowledge it was only ever on LP and has been booted more than once although some comments that "Record Shack" got permission
  20. Some of my best stuff came from Hospital radio stations and I guess like libraries they are all gone now or in Hospital radio DJ collections
  21. This contact might help https://www.bl.uk/collection-guides/music-recordings
