  1. I am sorry, but I am new to this site and thought would review this thread and it's potential results I did find out that the first (I think) release on the Me-O label was this one 15th November 1965 Rocarmeo Music 624 West 41st Drive, Los Angeles I did wonder if there was a connection with Pam-O records
  2. Was it this one https://fineartamerica.com/featured/staxtacular-night-stephen-stookey.html?product=coffee-mug
  3. Nice article Northern Soul and Mods https://www.itsamodthing.com/blog/northern-soul-and-its-relation-to-the-mod-scene/

RIP Clay this may have been his last interview https://www.waxpoetics.jp/yoshioka/2019/09/08/●-クレイ・マクマリー76歳で死去~モータウン出/ 5th video down Brenda Perryman Every time I have my car washed I will remember him
  5. I was not a member of this site until recently so thought would add some info 4 years on I found a stickered copy of Chuck's next record dated 1975 so I am guessing same year or slightly earlier which also implies that this was release was a couple of years before the Four Voices which I believe was 1977 Did we ever know who Chuck was ? I know he partnered Timmy Shaw through Johnnie Mae Matthews on Big Hit
  6. The Buddy Connor/Conner was released twice Orange 1003 (same track both sides B dose Instrumental) and Red 1004 (Mind Of Your Own B Side) I have seen them as 1970 and 1971 respectively There's a good thread here but no dates (and takes us into the Nightmare of California Gold label too)(when I say Nightmare I mean great stuff as this thread just keeps giving and giving info)
  7. That was my theory earlier or maybe Joey's wife (Latrail Jefferson) said the labels were a bit plain and changed them (my wife does it with our curtains every 3 months)

  9. Appears to be December 1967/ January 1968
  10. These have no connection at all to this label as they were a Jamaican Sound System, Mutt’s real name was Kenneth Davy and he named his sound system Mutt and Jeff after the popular comic strip of the day which featured a very tall character, Mutt, and a “half-pint” named Jeff.
  11. I guess stories do get miswritten over the years and thanks for letting us know
  12. Kev Roberts met up with Joey...he may know more https://www.soulunderground.co.uk/page1/Inspirations/
  13. Would that just be a different run using same master or a different pressing plant ?

  15. I found this quote from Sidney Barnes who thought very highly of Mr Fairclough "Here's the Shee records story. Shortly after I left Jobete I started my own label with some guys from the Bronx NY. We called it Shee records. Little Nicky was a very, very good friend of mine from my New Jersey hood who wanted so bad to be a singer. So I recorded him as our first act on the label. Now because I was still under contract to Motown & Jobete I couldn't use my real name, so I became M. Alexander (Alexander) is my middle name. Only a few records were pressed but it was a great song co-written by a sweet lady named Lil White. Little Nicky's real name is Nicholas Faircloth and he was like a son to me. Richard Tee was my arranger and good friend from Jobete, George Kerr and I worked with him and helped him develop into a really great musician"
  16. Mutt & Jeff originally was addressed at 1607 El Centro Avenue, Buddy Lowe joined the label as VP in 1971 for marketing and merchandising so perhaps some labels were issued then. I started thread here
  17. I had that problem a bit when first using Discogs , but easily solved, I now get them to confirm the condition in detail, when the order has been placed or ask them first before ordering and problem solved
  18. Most sellers I have come across are "Head and Shoulders" (other hair treatments are available) good sellers There is a forum on Discogs for these issues and I suggest you make your comments to that forum, rather than this one, or report your problem as I have found it really useful, if you buy a faulty car from Ford it's no good complaining to Vauxhall 😀
  19. The last copy I watched closely was 9 years ago which went through Pat Brady for £1000 I agree with you as it is a record I would only bother with if I was 12/13 again in another life, but lots of folks love it so there we are
  20. I would be shocked if it hasn't been booted as it is a "prime" record to be booted (not that I would approve of course)
  21. Staggering to think this never got a release and a year later our friend Bobby Goldsboro slapped on his LP as a pop song
  22. That's ruined my thought in one way, perhaps I should have said decent (lyric wise) 😀
  23. Below is the smaller run out I believe these were pressed for John Anderson originally but is has been Booted with same label Someone will know
