  1. I have to say that it's a belter/superb/monster tune and I can see lot's of old men like me peering over a Dj's deck and asking "what the.... is that". Plans should be made to rebuild "The Casino" and they can play this on a loop for me and I won't need 7 or 8 pints to try and get out of my chair to dance to this tune........ What's even more fantastic is he's French, from Bordeaux.....seriously this man can take the US on !!!!
  2. Sean there is little info on Jean and or Barbara and there was another discussion about Shiptown and they might be able to help I fund this on google and wondered sadly if it might be Jean https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/portsmouth-dailytimes/obituary.aspx?n=jean-battle&pid=175583560&fhid=30637

  8. I have listened to the Dustin Wilson and I cannot say whether it is Dusty (sounds different) This is Dusty (Eddie) with the Corals you mentioned
  9. This has now become so important to me to get some more info on Eddie for his daughter I was adopted it took me 48 years to find my family and I managed to get a photo of my mum (who had passed away), so I know what it means. I am not a member of https://soulfuldetroit.com/forum.php and there are many more contacts on there as well as here, who perhaps can help her and as a community we can be proud to help her and what a great result if we can (all from a discussion about a bootleg)

  20. After doing some research (Nothing much was known about Ike) I found this information, His real name was Izear Noble Jr., 58, passed away June 3, 2007 at St. Charles Hospital. Born on November 2, 1948 in Little Rock, AR, he was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. A talented musician and singer, he performed in Toledo area night clubs, as well as those in Michigan and other parts of Ohio He performed with The Up Tights formed in Forrest City, Arkansas, USA in March of 1967. They recorded for Joe Lee's Alley records and he released 2 45s in the late 1960s from the sessions. Ike appeared on many labels but released many of his 1980's tunes on this label Connowil
  21. Thanks so much for reminding me of her for all these years her tunes were being played and no one seemed to bother finding out who she was, which bearing in mind she recorded for "Atlantic" and released other tunes (This one being my favourite). Sadly she passed recently and I have found out her details below for all to know Ms. Alice Jean "One'sy" Mack of New York City. Ms. Mack was born in Darlington County and affectionately known by family and friends as One'sy, attended and graduated from Mayo High School Class of 1958 where she participated in many activities. During her eighth grade school year she wrote words for the Mayo High School Alma Mater. She continued her education at South Carolina State College earning a degree in Home Economics. Working in many capacities her occupations included; teaching school, dietetics, a song writer, a singer, acting, a pianist and a producer. If it wasn't for this post we would never have found out.......Thanks
