  1. I noticed the Ebay sales last night. I see the seller posted a link to those sales in Ebay/Website section at 12.05pm today, and followed up with a further post at 12.57pm in Sales asking for offers but without a link. In view of points raised I've added a link to the sales on Ebay to that 12.57 post to make it obvious that the sales are on here and Ebay. My general view is that as long as sales are honest and out in the open then it is up to the seller how he markets his 45s. Personally wouldn't have two sales going on of the same stuff at the same time using different outlets as it may result in some confusion. ROD [Forum Moderator]
  2. I've pinned this to the top of the Sales page for a few days. ROD [Forum moderator]
  3. Thank you Steve for injecting a bit of sanity there. It's three days since he posted his wants. He may not be on here a lot though I did notice he was on earlier. Whilst an acknowledgement is polite he has not reserved 45s and let anyone down. Hopefully reading this he will get back to you all at some stage. ROD {forum moderator]
  4. As you are aware gentlemen ads such as this are not really for general tittle-tattle nor OVO arguments ROD {Forum Modertator] Actually I remember exactly when I got first copy of this 45. It was March '73 cos I was working at Global and was only there for a month in between jobs and I swapped it for Toni Lamarr on Buddah. ROD [NOT the Forum Moderator]
  5. Im sure that was all a misunderstanding so edited it. Feel free to PM me if required. ROd [Forum moderator]
  6. Forgot and can't edit. May be a legal re-issue. ROD
  7. Yes. Looks like this. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ALFREDA-BROCKINGTON-YOUR-LOVE-HAS-GOT-ME-CHAINED-AND-BOUND-/251056736388?pt=UK_Records&hash=item3a7425c884 May be on styrene too as opposed to orig on vinyl. ROD
  8. The Wilson 45 is a record I dug up as an "unknown" for the US Beach scene some 20 odd years ago and passed on to a dj mate in Winston-Salem. It went absolutely massive over there and was bootlegged. ROD
  9. Is this a sale or a want? ROD [Forum moderator]
  10. I heard this but can't recall when or who said it. ROD
  11. I closed this topic as didn't feel it was the right place to discuss rarity/price of 45 in question. Exhuming a want over 6 years old and going from there IMO is not the right way. Just start a new topic in LAYB and if you feel you need to refer to this ad you can always put a link in. Thanks ROD [Forum moderator]
  12. Seagrave, If you have a topic for discussion I suggest you open it in LAYB. As you can see from the responses you were perhaps too oblique. ROD {Forum moderator]
  13. Just merged the two threads. A thread running in WANTS which I moved to LAYB and have now added to this. ROD [Forum moderator]
  14. I think you've misunderstood Phil. No links in Sales JUST to a website without listing priced 45s. The Anglo lists you post have an address and email contact details so why would I object to a link to website as well. In fact if you look at November list I put a link in to the auction. I just leave it to you to post as you see fit as long as 45s for sale can be seen by members on opening the ad. ROD
  15. What Chalky said. Actually Phil you do put sales in this section for Anglo-American. As long as there are prices it's OK. As does Dave Thorley for Top Dog. BROWNIE and DT are members on here so they can take orders through the site rather than having to go through their own website. Anglo is a bit different but if you remember I allowed it because you are acting to pass on any inquiries received through the site, and Tim's list is of interest to members on here. The auction part of Tim's list was split off because it is easier to look at his site for the current bids than having to update on here. ROD [forum moderator]
  16. Without Richard playing it I wouldn't have had a clue. I did know him well though so I guess he may have mentioned other track but positive he played it too. ROD
  17. It's not awful but IMO it's missing necessary ingredients to be anything more than interesting. Not a particularly memorable start. A change [for the worse] in the middle instead of a break and no back-up vocals to add some excitement. Comes across as plodding. ROD

I've got a pretty Mint UK regular original issue at £40 if no luck with DJ ROD
  19. Barry I see it. Stop messing a mo and I'll see what i can do. ROD
  20. I don't usually get too involved with the modern side of things but there seems to be some confusion here regarding Timothy Wilson. 100% sure that Richard was playing both tracks at Wigan although "Keep it up" probably featured more. That was '79 definitely cos in September of that year I picked up copies of the LP along with Bobby Thurston, Dysons Faces in a warehouse in Washington. I knew then it was wanted for both tracks. I got good money for it then so hard to believe Arthur was selling for £4 later. Unless of course he found multiples. ROD
  21. Benji, What exactly is the "crusade" Carlos is on. What's it all about? ROD

  23. I am now closing this thread as I dont want it to develop into a discussion on John Manship 's approach to record selling. Mal, you are entitled to your opinion which is why I suggested you [or Flanny] open a topic elsewhere. Just not on this sales thread. Gene, I find your reaction somewhat OTT. This IMO is not cyber-bullying but Mal making a point albeit badly. I figured at first that Mal had his tongue in his cheek and must admit am a little surprised at his response to me. I can't see anything particularly contraversial in Mal's comment as I have read similar on here numerous times when reactions to John's auction lists are posted or in responses to wants where someone links to John's site. Let's not pretend that John's prices are not a regular talking point. If anyone has any concerns then please PM me. ROD [forum moderator]
  24. This is a sales list. If you want to discuss prices and dealers please open a topic in AATS. ROD [forum moderator]
  25. I am closing this topic as the seller has kindly agreed to refund the buyer. ROD [forum moderator]
