Volumes - My Kind Of Girl - Decca Turkey
it was quite a big hit locally in detroit and made the national r and b charts. so maybe coz it made some noise. decca who bearing in mind tried to put out darrell banks over here via london tried their hand with it. maybe they thought they had the rights to it and thought maybe no one would notice............... can you see what im getting at altho i would have said france belgium or holland were more obvious choices dave

Finishing Prices On Manships
i agree. most of the records on the northern scene are way overpriced and not that rare IMVHO. as a bit of a collector/dj im currently on my 3rd copy of bernard williams and sam dees. I sold my betty lloyd for £50 when it bottomed out some years ago ive never got round to buying it back mainly coz i cant afford the £300 to buy it back and i wouldnt pay that for it anyway. if you have stacks of money you can petty much buy 95% of the records ever played on the northern scene.my own experience has told me that youd get them in a couple of months and the rarer ones would follow within a year dave

-
Photo Of The Magnetics
"quote" Just listen to Spyder Turner - Stand by me then tell me you know who the vocalist is. Regards Paul I see what you mean there paul.spyder does impersonaions of top soul stars of the day on the stand by me album. but not on the 45, well not on the french ep anyway dave

Photo Of The Magnetics
not morris chestnut on the soundmasters .and it says his name on the record well it does on my copy any way. and whats that old saying."believe half of what you see and none of what you hear" .id sooner believe what my old 45s tell me rather than someone relying on 40 year old memories when they probably cant remember what they had for breakfast dave

Re-issue E.p

-
Photo Of The Magnetics
If this is a photo of the Magnetics on Bonnie then we have proof that they are a different group and share no indervidual member as I can see no resemblence to any member of this photo with the photo's I have of the Volumes. Regards Paul
