  1. Think Butch's copy came from AdyC...an interesting trade it was I also have an alternative take of this track as well!
  2. Love this one...have six different versions taken from the tape vaults! I used to play the one out which doesn't feature the elongated funky guitar break (as enjoyable as it is).
  3. Where do you start...so many quality sides across a few decades.
  4. Fab label...so many goodies within.
  5. I recently added this one to my vaults...to go along with the blue labelled stock copy:
  6. Were these the pile of 10" Groovesville acetates...pretty plain labels with no logos and typed credits? A bunch came out of Chicago (?) from a dentist (?). Tim is a member on here, so he may be able to enlighten us?
  7. I recall this as well...he played it at the 100 Club...do pay attention Mr.C! (Ady Potts may have one for sale for those looking for a copy?)
  8. I recall you having that Sheldon label acetate one evening at a Capitol Soul Club doo...when I initially saw it i thought it may have been vinyl, as there are also Sheldon vinyl test presses using the same label (Condors and Softiques spring to mind). I believe Tony and I had the other acetates from you of the Orthea Barnes...both featuring the 'smoother' mix rather than the added percussion version on the Sheldon label (currently with Ted)..
  9. Detroit history currently living on my shelves...ding-dong!
  10. Any chance of a scan of the sleeve, Dave...never seen it.
  11. How many countries did this LP get an at-the-time release...have had UK, US, Canadian and Japanese thus far.
  12. Fame t.shirts...the t.shirt of choice in downtown Tokyo
  13. New titles added and some prices reduced: >>> PRESS HERE <<<
  14. Some say the mix on Polydor is superior to the other label releases for this classic
  15. Fabulous full-on NS dance track with an all-time classic Youth Club killah on the flip! Everyone must've owned a copy, or at least had a dance to the flipside over the years...timeless. Here it is on two other labels, on rather nice demo copies of wihch I found the Showtime WD in a shop last Sunday!
  16. The catalogue number on the white label copies has the letters, 'DJ' at the end (843L-8527DJ), so at a wild guess they are disc jockey copies? This was a big, big spin for Guy Hennigan during the mid-8T's, but soon copies flooded the (smaller than today) market place.
  17. Apart from the above, are there are other out-and-out Northern tracks on the label?
  18. I take it that was not recorded/signeed for, at that price? Was that also via airmail for reference?
  19. I recently donated my copy to a charity auction over here Hopefully some Motown collector over here will give generously
  20. I love it and used to have a Bell copy many moons ago. It is a track that really comes to life over a club PA rather than the home Hi-Fi...the way the wall of sound rolls along is superb complete with brass punches and fab group harmonies. There's also a more stripped down version in circulation that was born from an original Bell acetate from a collector in North London, as I recall...not as good as the finished take, mind.
  21. Yep, around £8 from the UK and more from Japan due to the exhange rate (@ £11.50). I still charge £5 per parcel even though it costs more...but the courier service I use has been great, so hey-ho! Plus my discs are reasonably priced, before anyone says anything!
  22. Good call...lovely feel good track (Bongi is Miriam Makeba's daughter...Judy is Buddah stalwart, Judy White.)
