Not got my copies with me, but are they not exactly the same...apart from the title?! From my files: 2002/2003 - Soldier Come Home / I Can't Make It 2002X/2003 - Keep on Holding On / I Can't Make It ...and whilst we're at it, the initial release on the label: 2001 - Don Hart & James Shorter - It's In My Mind / Come Here Baby All three releases used to be fairly easy to pick up during those 'lean times' during the 80's (2002X being the tougher of the three)...but then again that was 20 something years ago!

Nowp, defo wasn't the White Cliffs' disc. One of my regular suppliers had an interesting stash a few months ago...mainly big ticket Deep sides, which included Tommy's River City (and White Cliffs discs), along with some others. I seem to recall another sparse looking label, maybe yellow in colour, that looked interesting, but failed to be Northern either side (not saying that's a problem!)...so I left it. Went back and visited the bloke again yesterday...the River City 45 was still there, but the 'other' disc had gone. Hmmm.

The SS7 copy LP pictured in an earlier thread was released in '77. The Japanese copy came out the following year, and has their VIVID logo on the cover in place of the SS7 logo. Here's a large-font scan of the superb 'So says my heart'.

This did appear on a 45 (one-sided) and the Beas came out on the same promotional label (also one sided) before DeeGee (and UK Pama)...scans below. There's also some great clips on YouTube that I posted on RareSoulForum.com...hang on I'll go and dig them out...here you go: and... and...

Pops up for sale over here in Deep Soul land every now and then too. Seem to recall another disc by him on a similar sparse-looking yellow label too...hmmm?

The white label copies are indeed legit...used to see more of them around than the blue ones, back in the day when it was flavour of the minute at Stafford. I was there that night...frickin' incredible moment when she sang that after her Elgins set. Shame she came in too soon before the inst break finished, but hey it didn't matter then and it doesn't matter now. Nice to see that footage...thanks for the link.

Rare slab of vinyl

I found an original over here last year...quite tough to find imo. In fact, I've not seen too many bonafide copies at all over the years. The print quality is also far superior on the original...and there's a poor quality 'Audio Matrix' stamp in the deadwax. A case of bootlegged before it ever had chance to peak? Superb Northern imo...revisit it, people...sounds great!
