  2. Really sad to hear this. Her Aware material was some of the first southern soul that turned me over to 'that' side of soul music. RIP.
  3. Some crackers on this label as mentioned. Dover was a big player oon the distribution side. Not aware of any material being re-issued as Dave states. maybe the Ace guys can help out? Hi Kirsty Manship has the Gary Griffin listed at £300 (super version btw) and a Lucky Davis currently on auction. But as always the GG disc could be over priced (i really dont know!) or the LD 45 could sell for a lot more than what Mark B has quoted as we have seen many a time on a Manship auction (but I would agree with mark!) Turks are £40 / £50 are they not? Have seen YTMO at £30. Hope this helps.
  14. A friend is after the above. . Will gladly accept a VG copy upwards - doesnt have to be a minter. PM's please with price wanted and condition! Merci!
  15. Again..in a word..No. That's not the point of the thread. To go back to the original issue of the thread - I can't see it being a problem for the soul scene in 5 years time or whatever. Whatever gives the whole scene longevity and brings new faces in then whatever works ...works.. The die hard northern crowd I guess will never be won over with across the board nights nor would the folk who don't like the Wigan / top 500 (for example) era northern be won over at a top 500 wigan oldies night. Is it just down to promotion and awareness of what you'd expect to hear at a night? Like Nev said, he's looking forward to Lifeline and expecting to hear some funky soul being spun by leading dj's. And there'll be just as many folk going to a pure oldies night and enjoying it just as much as Nev will enjoy Lifeline. There's plenty of different nights available to all soul fans whatever your expectations are.. We don't own the music. The music owns us.

Just going by average prices I've seen. Whether they're accurate or not who knows! Re, Family Of Eve. Jeree or Full Sail issue - which is rarer /first press? Coloured vinyls too.. Hope this helps Harry.
  17. About £30/£40 quid? Crackin record actually on a great little label.
  18. LP is Pass The Feelin On Steve.
  19. Fabulous record Dave and a fabulous artist as Dylan highlights. Incidentally the same sided promo of 'Just The Other Day' - Your Love Is Worth The Pain' is a mighty worthy addition to any deep collection for a fraction of the price of the issue. Oh for some unreleased / unissued material from such a great singer. Can't think of any from the top of my head maybe some more eduacated folk know?
  20. Lovely 45! Never seen an issue.. and if it does exist its a bloody hard one to locate. Maybe one of the KENT guys can help - Get Your Lie Straight & Moaning Groaning & Crying dealt with Galaxy issued 45s. There is of course his other toughie on the same label 'Couldn't Find Nobody'

  22. There was indeed a Crossover special- think Steve Plumb and a couple of others had some input into it along with Rod?? Most back issues are still available. For crossover to be labelled a poor mans soul etc is just crap and lazy. So the likes of Bobby Wilburn Bill Brandon and god knows what else is music for those who can't afford a northern collection? Good grief.........
  23. What a ridiculoous statement.! Run of the mill soul records? What would they be then? Crossover is for people who cannot afford to buy rare records? Hmmm think there may be a few who would disagree there.
