  8. Same label as Solaris ' You & I ' which I've always always rated. Anything else tucked away on this label? Rich
  9. =========== Your not wrong John! The label - The Artist - The Song. 100% (IMHO) southern cookin marriage perfection! Now if the lottery comes in tonight .... Oh and the Ernest Baker too.... ATB Rich
  10. Are these not the 're-issues' you find on ebay for about a tenner? I thought they were just blatant bootlegs. ? Rich
  11. It is Mikey - We've debated this s******* a fair bit. The last posted feedback says it all really - ' brill .Many thanks.Whats next? ' Indeed, what next? ALL current biggies on 60s/70s scene -???? Rich
  12. ========== Great 45 - Assume (they certainly sound the same) as the Mike & Bill 45s on Arista? Worth picking up too for about a fiver a piece. Rich
  13. --> QUOTE(mark.b @ Dec 14 2006, 06:42 PM) link its the other side of her version of make me yours isnt it mark ===================== Certainly is! Kayvette 5129 - Somebody Loves You b/w Make Me Yours. Probably the one of hers on Kayvette you dont see as often as the others. But still should be picked up reasobaly cheap. Great artist and a great little label to collect. Rich
  14. ===================== It wouldn't be so bad if the fact that it now seems more than ever people are buying all these 're-issues' - And your classic oldies/boots for silly money! Still - doesn't stop me from buying some nice deep/ballads/suothern for a quid when others are chasing and paying a fiver for Pye Disco Demand 45s! ATB Rich
  15. Guess that settles that one then! A post xmas buy & search then. Anyone an idea as to value of the LP? ATB Rich

  17. Afternoon! Been sent a tape with 'I'll Do Some Steppin On My Own ' from the LP Best Is Yet To Come. Unknown to me - Quite like it. Anyone any info on her , the LP? Cant seem to find anything about her or the LP. ATB Rich
  18. Pretty sure she's not a 'Tammy' - Her only 45 I think and the flip made one of the Dave Godin Deep Soul CD's. Got a UK release too on Atlantic. Pretty hard to find these days on either UK or US. Great 2 sides. Rich
  19. A lot of the Forte 'find' went to a couple or few dealers (I think) and on a few titles have now been salted away pretty quickly. There was a bit of a spate on ebay earlier in the year but supply has pretty much dried up. Rich
  20. First original 45 - Take This Heart Of Mine - Marvin Gaye (Tamla). Last - BPS Revolution - Brotherley Love (Jewel) Rich
  21. I think the recent CD swap would cement the quality of tracks that are under-played/valued. I woudl guess the crossover/modern scene has embraced the format more so? Rich
  22. Just an observation really but there doesn't seem to be any Black Music only fairs in the north? Used to visit one in Manchester many moons ago - Anybody know any different? Picked up the latest Record Collector and there seems to be a bit of a draught of decent fairs. One in Skipton next week (I'll be there if anyone else is) and keep missing the Harrogate one. Has Ebay killed off the fair? Rich
  23. One up for $300 at present from a seller in New Orleans on EBAY. Rich
  24. Hi Baz Yes it is Chicago - Writer/Producer Jack Daniels perhaps? Venturas & the Ernest Fitzgerald discs are the only ones I can find. Love the 45 -It tails off then starts again towards the end! Quirky and a nice bit of soul - Well worth whatever Dustys have it at. ATB Rich
  25. Doing some filing the other night - Came across this: Evon Jones - This Fool Is Together (Daniels 505) - (There's a clip on JM site). Not played it ages, quite a nice track IMO. Anybody know anything about the artist? Cheers, Rich
