  1. You could well be right Pete, there is a white demo vinyl boot of "Don't to discuss it"..............I have one, I also have a white demo styrene original, both with the differences in matrix's as described above.
  2. If it's in styrene with a stuck on label and a large 45 on the left hand side then it's an original. If it's in vinyl with a moulded label then it's a boot. Here's another clue, on the original the matrix reads like this : zsp-117384 1c also at 180° from the matrix there's some tiny markings, look like t111 The bootleg reads like this : zsp 117384 1c no - between the letters and numbers and the 1c is closer to the numbers, no tiny t111 Have been going through all my Okeh records this afternoon, both my styrene "Don't want to discuss it" and "Quitter never wins" have matrix scratched in them. All Little Richard and Williams & Watson were Los Angeles recordings it is probable that this was sub contracted work. Thing is in John Manship's book it states that there must be a stamped matrix and you know what happens then, everybody takes this as 100% fact, even John says often he's not all knowing. Whats' also interesting is the 2 different designs of label; One with extra credits on the right hand side. The scan on far right shows the matrix is scratched.
  3. Always enjoyed those programs I have a shed load of them on cassettes
  4. I think that's Will Smith there on the right !
  5. £255, the most expensive boot maybe ?
  6. Canadian They once toured Canada. Maybe the best soul album of all time.
  7. Love the French, Dutch & Belgian pic sleeve issues, yummy-yummy yum yum...............
  8. I have a couple of these, last one, mint cost me £1.50, what an album
  9. When I worked in the US you could pick these up at flea market for less than $5.00 I bought loads
  10. I have to say I do prefer this side.
  11. At 15 or 16 I was dating a girl who's older sister had a set of those Big Hits albums. We'd put them on and listen to them for hours. I'm guessing about 1968-ish. I was hooked. Most of my favourite soul records are Motown.
  12. Makes you wonder how they got into circulation in the US
  13. This one perhaps ? https://www.ebay.com/itm/PROMO-Little-Richard-I-Dont-Want-to-Discuss-It-Hurry-Sundown-1967-45rpm-VG-/131183586779?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item1e8b26addb
  14. I guess they're even more rare than US Okeh, tougher to sell on though, I had 2 copies of Major Lance - You don't want me no more on Epic, hard to sell them.
  15. I have 2, 1 vinyl and scratched matrix, 70s boot and one in styrene scratched matrix original and an issue ditto.
  16. Always loved those
  17. Could you scan & post it ?
  18. Looking for someone who has this.
  19. Does anyone have a 100% original white US Okeh demo ?
  20. Maybe rarer, I don't know but the coloured issue is hummy yummy doo doo.................
  21. + - £2500.........................
  22. Hardly call it rare in the NS sense, it's the original release, worth about £80 - 100 depending on condition. The white demo is rare they go for anything from £200 - 300 maybe more. I see this one is at £140.00 already, just confirms something's worth what someone will pay
  23. Boy! some series amounts of money being spent there, guess the financial crisis is well and truly over. $300+ for a Valentinos.........
