Perhaps you could suggest a few "right" venues then ? The future of the NS will be dictated by the current one so it's relevant alright.

Been to lots of "Euro" events (I live there) not a lot of dancing and atmosphere. It is however their absolute right to do what they want and play what they want. Talking to one "Euro" DJ who has an eye watering collection, never been to a soul venue up North in his life, never got past the 100 club. It is of course personal taste and it would wrong to come on this forum and tell people they are farts, chin-strokers, etc. oldies venues are still very popular, let's not criticise that, if that's what they want, then why not ?

I guess it's what defines a successful portion of the soul scene. 750+ people at Stoke listening to classics and all the biggies or about 30 people in Italy listening to some very rare stuff but not really dancing. You pays your money and takes your choice.

    Try and sit still...........................
  21. With the amount of people listing records as "Soul", "R & B" "Northern Soul" when you try and filter you still end up with about 3 - 4000 records to trawl through. A lot of people rank them "Highest First" and that means your 99pence records are way, way down anyones search list. Consider putting one or two hgher priced records for sale together with a message to potential buyers to view your other items. All the data shows that more expensive records are getting even more expensive, my experience has been I've been able to sell at 25 - 30% more than what I paid (recent purchases) a record I bought on Ebay for £140.00 , I sold for over £300, one I bought for £100.00 sold for £150.00 and another I bought for £245.00 sold for £355.00. All indications point to there are less buyers out there more interested in the bigger records. Anyway good luck.

I would have thought Muscle Shoals would have suited him.
  23. I have now shipped some 70+ records using these carton mailers. They are very marginal, I decided only to ship vinyl records, no styrene. If you put too much carton stiffeners in the sleeve it becomes very difficult to get the record out afterwards. I haven't had any complaints from customers so I'm assuming they've arrived all OK. I did make my own stiffeners from carboard I got from the local supermarket, it was a bit trial and error. I have bought records from UK sellers who also use mailers, they've tended to be larger in size making it easier to increase the stiffeners so once this lot used up I'll trawl around to see what I can find.
  24. I saw her once on US tv, about 20 years ago, my word what a peach
