  1. I can remember a pre match interview with the late great Franz Beckenbauer I'm sure it was during a world cup , maybe late 80s early 90s he was asked " do you think we'll see the best football in the world here today " & his response was " no because a lot of the countrys can't be sure of having all their best players for one reason or another, but if it was a World Club competition then we definitely would " . He then went on to say he believed one day it would happen , he was right on both counts .
  2. I found this locally in a Kidderminster charity shop for £1. Curiosity got the better of me , & after getting it home and removing the obviously false label on the B- side found it was the blue labelled SP reissue , with original label deliberately removed but matrix details gave it away . The Label was an original release Jamo Thomas , Bahama Mama , Part 1 on Sound Stage 1967 . With the Artist & song title probably Tipexed out & filled in with Letra set ? Would this have done for home use or to play out & deceive the soul police ? Have also found a few others so it's not a one off , and no it wasn't me .
  3. Hi Steve , your right , it now says " this episode is currently unavailable" but it was available at the time I posted . Thanks for the update, maybe someone a bit more IT , can find a link ? Or maybe recorded it & can repost . Cheers Dave
  4. This is so damn good , just dropped can't wait to get it on the deck .
  5. Hopefully this works , https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002d3x3
  6. Unfortunately not shown on the later news bulletin , evening programme from 13.37 mins , but still worthy of a view , in fact watching it again now on the iPlayer, Colin gets a section after the rave section of the feature , mentioning all the venues etc , & the Blue Plaques all over the City .
  7. BBC Midlands Today: Blue Plaque Feature Northern Soul on the BBC, for all the right reasons. View full article
  8. This evening's episode of Midlands Today news on the BBC , back on the Blue Plaque trail in Stoke On Trent , should follow News at Ten , if you missed it .
  9. That covers a hell of a lot that was played in the Halcyon days of Northern Soul , & still is today , & also a choice I was going to mention , (the only thing was the dress code to get in ) 😂 😂
  10. Evening Roger , Have pmd , Dave
  11. Ede Robin x Soul Symphony, the latter every time , vocal sounds made to fit , was and still is a great instrumental.
  12. " Pretention " I think it was called , my personal favourite from the Mirwood stable , was "The Temptation Walk " instrumental proper floor filler , & for atmosphere " The Spy " The Guys From Uncle , sounded superb back then in the main room .
  13. Hopefully it will be available for all eventually, thanks Eddie
  14. Hi Jmsoul , Is this a one off viewing / event , or will it be shown in other parts of the UK , or via the media ? Looks like a very interesting documentary.
  15. Hi Jmsoul , Are there any plans for future dates , or broadcasting of the documentary via media ? Looks like a very interesting watch .
  16. Are you into the inherited 7" soul collection or looking to move it on , if selling make a list and seek help in pricing it all up , or auction via eBay or here , it hasn't cost you anything & others may have them on their wants list , Nothing to lose other than a life time of probably the best music you'll ever hear !!!
  17. Rumour has it , It's the Funk Brothers , playing away from home , cheap as chips , I've got a promo copy cheap as Fish & chips , but a brilliant instrumental non the less , can't recall it being played before 76 , that's when I went further a field , like lots off others until 81
  18. Just read this in today's Far Out by Ben Forrest https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/telephone-receivers-diy-dj history of the telephone headphone.
  19. Just read it , thanks for posting
  20. Well done LRK & James Holvay , great looking label's , 2 great sides , with that definitive Chicago rhythm coming through.
  21. It grew into an elitist scene , it didn't start out that way , from much earlier posts that is pretty evident .
  22. Irony of the scene , records no one has yet heard played until they became mainstream, & records that slipped through the mainstream played for ever & a day , regardless of quality but rarity.
  23. Big Print Shop , www.bigprintshop.co.uk www.elitesign.co.uk Loads on Google, check if one of the above in your area .
  24. Another happy outcome , & free postage too , get in there 😄
