  1. Also done by Chuck Bernard on Satellite
  2. Talking of the Bobby Patterson Paula LP. I would have thought - Everything Good To You (Don't Have To Good For You) would have be bigger if it had been a single rather than an LP track....
  3. I had a look at the LP whilst putting the Xmas decorations back in the lost and I think he looks like Roger Taylor from Queen.
  4. Two designs and 3 times according to Mr Rimmers site https://www.soulfulki...sic.net/cat.htm https://www.popsike.c...xt=purple+mundi Dont' know about price as they don't seem to come up that much. I reall love Man In The Sky which from memory is billed as Carlos Wright with Purple Mundi or something like that.....
  5. Don't know if this ever got played cos it's a bit slow but Gene Taylor - You Got My Nose Wide Open on Minit under the control of Bobby Womack is a sublime bit of crossover. The flip Dont Go Away is a fantastic bit of deep too.
  6. Sadly we cant see it here at work, as our maintenance company haven't paid Sky, so we've been cut off over xmas. Which is a real p*sser as I work for a Saffa bank and was getting stick before xmas. We have to get it from the Internet as even Bloomberg only has the Aussies vs Pakistan stats. James Govan's "Uphill Climb" was also on the on Charley R&B LP "I'm In Need". Can't remember when it came out, but probably mid to late 80's. There was an 80's tunes thread a while ago, think it was started by Gavin (Page).
  7. Leon Bryant's, Finders Keepers LP on De-Lite from 84. It too also gained a UK release. IMO one of the most consistent contemporary soul LP of the 80's
  8. I knew the Madeline Bell and Jean Wells versions, but don't think I'd heard this version before. Nice one Sean....
  9. From my experience the issue is a tough one to come by. The flip is "Today Or Never" and is in Refosoul
  10. Wow

At least it went to a good home, sadly not mine...
  11. Andy, what a loverly pair of issues you have!!!!! I too hadn't heard the "real" version until last week when I clicked on the the Pep Brown page on John Ridleys site, don't know how long the update has been there and I must say I really like it. Andy, fancy swapping your issue, with my issue?
  12. https://www.sirshambl...%20version).mp3 There you go, as John says - its got lots of country guitar
  13. Does anyone have an idea as to the price of one of these? This is an up/mid tempo version and not the ballad version that is generally on the flip of the issue of Is It All Over. Cheers, John
  14. I'm assuming the Richard Flowers credits on the FLIP-DIP is the same Richard Flowers of For Real/We can Make It Happen fame?
  15. Scheduled for release at the height of Stax's troubles and wondered if this got released as I've never seen one. Cheers, John
  16. There are a few records on different labels that are housed in IRDA sleeves and I was wondering if there were any true links between the records or was it just a Nashville organisation that distributed records as they've got IRDA release numbers. Heres a few I know of.... Willie Fisher - Put Your Lovin on Me - Tigress - IRDA 174 Mixed Feelings - Sha-La-La - United - IRDA 351 Willie Fisher - One Way Street - Tigress - IRDA 359 Cheers, John
  17. Troy Johnson for £700, if it was in dollars I can inderstand, but IMO thats pushing it a bit. Christian had one for £500 and I think took a little while to sell, if it did.
  18. Bob knows something about this as he commented on it on a previous thread (might have been the curtom thread). It's a pop soul cover of June Conquest.
  19. Sorry guys, maybe I should have been clearer. Its not the sound quality I'm complaining about, but the quality of the wax. All the ones I've got have pit marks which on and some I've bought i've had to send back because the pit marks were so bad. By the way, I'm not complaining about dealers selling these, just that the wax quality of Jar-Val releases is generally quite bad.
  20. + Ronnie Miller & Jimmy Braswell, releases 14-16 mainly...
  21. The music's great and it's a label I collect, but its so frustrating when you see/get them and the pressing is so bad that they're unplayable, at least to these ears....
  22. John Reed replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
There might be a premium for issues compared to demo's too...
  23. Baz, Do you mean James Brown's Brownstone? If so, in the back of the James Brown autobiography which came out in the late 80's there's a definitive discography by Cliff White. Which includes James Brown recordings and related releases on his labels such as Try Me, People & Brownstone, if that's the one your after.
  24. I'll see if I can dig one out Might take a while

I think there are quite a few GJ sound clips in refosoul already...
