Most Soul Female Voice?
There are so many Mavis Staples at her best, is unbeatable and her two Volt LP's should be in every household. Babrara Lynn cant do no wrong in my eyes either up tempo or on ballads - Untill I Suffer, is one of my all time faves. Kim Tolliver Doris Duke

Archie Bell Philly Int?
It was the title of their 1976 LP which also has "Don't Let Love Get You Down" on it. If I remember rightly the 12" was released on the back of the popularity of Don't Let Love Get You Down, which was very popular in the late 80's, especially in London. I don't really remember "Where Wiil You Go...." baing played out, maybe a venues I didn't attend. There was a stream of reissues at the time leveraging off of stuff played on the Rare Groove scene.

Buddy Causey - Theres A Way - Anyone Got One For Sale
I was interested in Buddy Causey finishing on ebay this afternoon. I went out to my sons cubs sports day and expected to be back in time so didn't put in a bid (silly me). Well I got back too late so missed out, does anyone know what it went for?

Does anyone else think that since the site upgrade the auction prices seem more in-line with real-world prices? Is it the credit crunch?

Tunes Originally Released On Local Labels And Then Re-Released On A Motown Label
I can understand the releases on Soul after Motown took-over Ric-Tic in 68, probably trying to get some extra value on some popular local tunes. These are all fledgling Motown releases, so probably done for a wider distribution, which Motown didn't have at the time.

Tunes Originally Released On Local Labels And Then Re-Released On A Motown Label
I've been thinking of Vigil Henry - You Ain't Saying Nothin' New, which was originally released on Colossus and then on Tamla, possibly in a deal for wider distribution. Not being a Motown expert, were there other releases like this?

Linda Lyndell - Bring Your Love Back To Me
They have a difference suffix at the end of each matrix number, maybe that's the way to tell where is was pressed?

Le Cam, Soft Records, Charay Records Soul 45S
Brett, Personally I think its a cracking double sider and yes its a cover of Blands Cry, Cry, Cry. There was some dodgy numbering there. PM me your email address.... Cheers, John

Soul Records You Just Don't 'get'
Never really got on with Buddy Conner - When You're Alone. Its got everything in there that I like, but it just doesn't do anything for me.

Le Cam, Soft Records, Charay Records Soul 45S
Didn't he also get a lot of his artists to record a version of "Under The Pines"?
-
David Sea - Night After Night - Crown Limited
Oh, I only know of two releases by him on Crown Int, didn't know of a third. Do It right Now/Who's Been warming My Oven - NR15306 Night After Night/When Did You Start Stop Loving Me - NR15655-1 I think these are the sides that match, If I'm wrong its due to me not tagging them correctly on ITunes. Thought these were after the Hy-Tyde release of Angle and before the re-release of it on T-Jaye
