  1. Original first issue with the correct ARCHER stamp. The copies without the large ARCHER stamp at all, are legal reissues repressed a short while after the original release, in the USA by the label owners. It still has the 3 w's scratched in the runout, but by then they had stopped using the large ARCHER stamp. Soul Bowl records had this repress in quality for their lists back in the late 1970's early 1980's. The copies with the downhill sloping, small letter archer stamps are counterfeits.
  2. That's how I remember it. That Las Vegas guy is well known, I just can't remember his name. He also used to sell those boots of "Love Slipped Through My Fingers" by Towanda Barnes. He had those Kissi Jacob's boots as well on Blackjack. Some of his sales were definite originals but he had a lot of remakes/boots. He had Frederick Hymes III on Fab Vegas. Never sure about those because he seemed to have them listed regularly for under $100. Although that was before it was really getting talked about very much or played out.
  3. Valtone 105 "Some Good In Everything Bad" by The Fabulous Apollos is a great record. Using the same backing track to "The One Alone" it is a very worthwhile release! I.M.O.
  4. I don't think any more have been found. The price isn't falling it's been steady at about £700 for most copies sold lately. The one I have for sale is mint condition and it came from USA when "helpmethroughcollege" on ebay was selling some for his relation who had them since the 1960's. This was about 12 years ago. Since I first listed my original John Manship, Man from Soul and Darren Brown have all sold copies for £700+ and they were not listed as good condition as mine, which is a bit frustrating! I think these copies came out of collections.
  5. Yes I'm thinking of changing my name by deed poll to John Manship!😊. It seems it's the only way to get a good price for selling a record!
  6. Rare Original first Issue 45. £700 including fully insured post. Condition is an immaculate Mint- Looks spotless and plays great. Sold.
  7. The "7 Miles Per Hour Band" is a one Richard Searling used to play in the 80's. I bought a 7" 45rpm copy then from John Anderson at Soul Bowl. Turned out to be a rare record and one that's hardly ever seen for sale. The 45rpm is a shorter time than this sound clip I found on you tube.
  8. Yes well spotted. Original has the Nashville Matrix stamp.
  9. Everytime I hear this I am transported back to the Casino's Mr M's and it's 4.00 am in the morning. The dance floor is absolutely rammed solid with dancers. With the heat, in time handclaps and the intense atmosphere buzzing! Northern Soul in the extreme!
  10. Well this topic wouldn't be complete without this classic!!!
  11. I already put that Fantasy record up yesterday! Shows we both have good taste🙂
  12. It's a nice record but if we start listing low price records this topic is going to lose it's way. There was a thread not so long ago about cheaper modern records.
  13. Both sides of this old Richard Searling biggie!
  14. Another rare and in demand modern northern soul tune on original. It has been reissued.
  15. This great piece of modern type Northern Soul is quite hard to get on original.
  16. The Racketeer - John Grisham Couldn't put it down. Great for me.
  17. "What Would I Do" The Superiors Verve. £65 Original first issue USA 45. Condition is Mint- All time classic Northern Soul original. Postage is £4 for signed for delivery.
  18. Oo Wee Let It Be Me Babe". A big record back in the golden days. Super great Northern Soul backing track and production, but spoiled by two very poor vocals. I have always thought Karl Evans and Louise Lewis do not have very soulful voices. I often imagine The Blossoms or The Apollos singing the song with Soul! Or maybe Jean Carter of "Like One" fame!
  19. Does the title of this topic always have to have the word "Yawn" after the Mello Souls? Is it all so boring?
  20. Very sorry your lordship, I hope we aren't boring you too much! Feel free to do something better.
  21. If dj's are required to play originals this requires time and commitment. This keeps the standard of music quality higher, because that dj has served a kind of apprenticeship to get where they are! Playing second issues, bootlegs, cd's means dj's don't need commitment and experience to be behind the decks, anyone can do it!
  22. Garland Green. SOLD. Revue. USA 100% guaranteed original Revue 45rpm "Girl I Love You" "It Rained Forty Days And Nights" EX+ condition. Two great sides. £150 includes fully insured postage.
  23. Make sure your logged in and not viewing as a guest.
  24. First label Evejim then picked up by Decca for national distribution.
