Leave a Little Love (Northern Soul)
Sorry, on this one Malcolm Hayes is before Emma Reed's.

Keep the faith saying/motif
That's a good point, but it's getting away from the original question. Maybe it needs asked and discussed as a fresh subject?

Leave a Little Love (Northern Soul)
Who would believe it, but yes Lulu's "Leave A Little Love" is excellent. It is the original version written by the great Les Reed. This was before Patti Austin's also excellent Coral records version! I bet that won't suit the purists😉 This weeks show is great with a good selection of tracks and some that were new to me, which is always a good thing!

Keep the faith saying/motif
It's just a bit of nostalgia for the people who were on the scene, at a time when putting it on venue adverts and badges was a new and fashionable thing. Not meant to be taken too seriously!

Keep the faith saying/motif
Well if KTF is daft, maybe old men dancing on there own, to old love records is daft as well!?

JM - 28/07/2021 - Results!
Writing on the label must be the second worse things for serious UK collectors. That's after the centre knocked out N.O.C. Which is the kiss of death for the UK label, high end collector!

Keep the faith saying/motif
For many Northern Soul has/is a bit of a lifelong religion, so we are keeping the faith! I must admit I only say it as a bit of a tongue in the cheek joke, after a few pints😀.

Best ebay bargain over the years.
I kept buying that Chevrons record "Love, I Love You", before it was getting played. Bought it a few times on M.M.C. and on Independence labels for not much money. I had a feeling it would get played, and it did! Sold them on for a decent profit, to buy other records that I have to pay too much for!

Sam Moore "Give You Plenty Lovin'" - Is it really rare ?
Interesting point. So if there where three different pressing plants used and it got past the demo stage to be issued, where are all the copies? Maybe for some legal reason they were all destroyed, or maybe there is a box full somewhere! Time will tell!

Chips - Weldon McDougal
Those Chips stickers are the worst! There is no way of getting them off the label without damage! I wouldn't even try now. Some types of stickers have come off with a little water and time, but these are impervious to water and the glue sticks like poopoo to a blanket!😀

Is Playing A Boot At A Venue Ever Acceptable
A DJ who has a box of originals has probably more experience than someone with a box of recent reissue lookalikes. So I would think he would have a better idea of what to play and when to play it. If you have taken the time and given the commitment to buy the originals, it stands to reason you must be more commited, therefore more experienced to DJ to a knowledgeable crowd.

Shotts Allnighter Right Time, Right People, Right Music.
I went to the regular monthly allnighters, because the records were great. All the new discoveries and lots of quality lesser know records were played. The DJ selection was second to none. Lots of people used to travel up, like me, from England for the allnighters. Great times in the late 80's early 90's. Ivan.

Is it really worth buying from America
It's not as much hassle to buy from the States now than it used to be pre internet days. I used to go to the currency exchange and buy dollars to send through the post! Then there was the need to send for a Goldmine mag to get the dealers lists. Sending bids by letter through the post. The risks I used to take, etc. So it has been easier with the internet but is becoming more difficult and less bargains to be had. I used to get some real bargains in pre-internet days. The USA dealers didn't have much of a clue on value, till they got those price guides and popsike!

Yes that's how it's looks to me over the years of trawling through boxes and lists. I always prefer the blue demo and blue issue over the yellow demo and black issue. I was told that the yellow demo/black issue combination was set up as a jazz series on Verve? Or could it be just a different pressing plant from the blue demo/ blue issue combination?

JMAuction - 07/07/2021 - Results!
Joey Delorenzo is not my favourite record and not a great vocal, but it is a good dancer with a interesting production that works in a venue played loud. There have always been records that please the dance floor, more than the purist soul aficionado. But I think that's part of the tapestry of Northern Soul! It's varied with a lot of different styles. That's what keeps it interesting. It is a balance between the dancer, who just wants to have a good exciting dance, and the good quality DJ who wants to get good quality tunes accepted. As long as it's liked and accepted on the Northern Soul allnighter dancefloor, it should be played. It's a democracy and the dancefloor is where the votes are cast!!

Records - Betty Turner -be careful girl on liberty issue
Maybe see about 4 times more demos than issues. The record is great, but not particularly rare.

I thought there is something in the sites rules about using bad language.

still remember the feeling
I bought the USA Red and White demo in Wigan record bar, it looks and plays great. I've never had a UK copy. Fantastic record IMO.

Heavy metal band does Rita & the Tiaras
Yes totally agree. Haven't they got any idea's or creativity of there own! Things like Yazz "The Only Way Is Up" and Simply Red with "A Lot Of Love". They totally overshadow the original better recordings.

Roy hamilton 45s
I also think "The Panic Is On" is a great record by Roy Hamilton. Slower than the other two, but still excellent.

Heavy metal band does Rita & the Tiaras
There should be a law to stop this sacrilege!😀. I hope it doesn't turn into another big hit, like Soft Cell and "Tainted Love!"🙁.

Frankie Valli - True or False!
"Hey Girl Don't Bother Me" The Tams was reissued on Probe because of plays on the Northern Scene. (Twisted Wheel etc) Originally on the HMV label in the UK. That got to number 1 in the UK charts in 1971 on Probe. After giving it some thought, I think the Frankie Valli was earlier than the Tams reissue.
