Hi, Good question. The copies with the delta symbol and number 97689 are boots/reissues for the Northern scene in 1975. The record originally came out in 1968.

I remember Richard Searling playing Johnny Hendley at Wigan. It was one of his monsters, till it got pressed. They didn't do themselves any favours calling themselves John and the Weirdest! Even though it's a totally brilliant doublesider! Both sides, Richard Searling cover ups at Wigan!

Tony Blackburn played The Enchantments "I'm In Love With Your Daughter" as his Northern Soul dance floor filler, on this mornings Sounds Of The Sixties Radio 2 show. He said it has sold for up to £400 to collectors. I remember it from The Stafford "Top Of The World" allnighers and other venues around the mid 80's onwards!

£10,020 for a record with multiple marks, and pops and ticks while playing! Some people obviously don't mind, but I would only want a mint record for that kind of money!

I recently bought a UK first issue Deram- "Who's little girl are you" Danny Williams from a guy in New York. In 1979 I bought a UK London yellow demo of Darrell Banks in Los Angeles!

The way auction prices are going up by silly amounts, really knocks the price guides to pieces! The sudden massive price increases, knock all the years/decades of accepted prices, out of the window! I hope we have seen the last of price guides! They only increased prices anyway! No one who had a guide wanted to sell a record for less than guide price, as they would feel shortchanged. This made a bottom price a seller would accept. The record price could only go up from there!

I really liked the Top 500 book. It is a book about the records and Northern Soul scene which is what I am interested in. I know that things slip through the net, but the most startling omission from the book was "Black Eyed Girl" by Billy Thompson. Hopefully this can be put right in the new book!

Tony Blackburn plays one "Northern Soul Dance Floor Filler" record every week on his Sounds of the Sixties, Sat morning 6 till 8 show. It was good to hear the great rarity "Check it Baby" by Willie and the Mighty Magnificents - All Platinum, this morning. He said it was played at Top Dog Soul events. Some weeks are a poor selection, but this week makes up for that!

If Berry Gordy is like a lot of the artists, his favourites would be the one's that sold the most! There are so many great Motown records, it should have been a top 500!

Like Tomangoes say's, and on most Wands, the demo has black print and issue has red print!

"Do I Love You" was fantastic in Wigan, when it was first played as Eddie Foster. But I have heard it too many times now. It needs a rest for a while. I prefer Chris Clarks version of it these days.

I'm sorry, but I did not like that Black Soul record back in the day.That was the couple of times I heard it in Wigan, and I still don't care for it now! But each to his own, everyone has a different taste!

I was at that allnighter at Stafford. While we were waiting in the queue we saw a big car pull up! It was Eddie Parker and Lorraine Chandler arriving to do the show! They both did great performances. We really enjoyed that night and got both their autograghs and photos! It was a night Detroit came to Stafford😁

Traditionally most black issues are a lot harder to find than the White demos. So they usually go for more money. I read that the demos never went back to RCA, but the issues may have been on a sale or return arrangment. There are some exceptions I have seen over the years. The Metro's "Since I Found My baby" - RCA. It turns up a less on the White demo than a Black issue! I must have seen a ratio of at least 3 issues compared to 1 white demo.

I had a JV copy once for £3. The JV label looks very dull and unattractive. A mucky dark green and black! Either label, I think it's a great solid Northern Soul classic!

There are pink label originals that are machine stamped, and originals that have scratched in numbers like yours. It was a relatively good seller, so had several presses done at the time. The pink copy in your picture is an original. The grey label Revilots are machine stamped and are rarer than pink labels, so tend to be more desirable!

I know someone who has a vinyl issue with the runout numbers machine stamped in, like the demo! This must be the true original vinyl issue.

This vinyl issue has always been regarded as a bit suspect, because the run out letters and numbers are scratched in but the demo has the numbers and letters machine stamped in ! Yes a bootleg, that was made for Northern Soul demand in the Wigan Casino era.

Yes and the original vinyl east coast Laurie demo with Advance Release written up the sides of the label. Machine stamped number in run out U4KM 0901-1.

There are various originals and bootlegs. Some are vinyl and some styrene. Your picture shows a styrene variant. For this styrene copy to be original it needs the west coast monarch delta and number. So a triangle then the number 65707 scratched in the run out to be original. The safest way to own an original of this record is the vinyl demo. With advance release written down both sides and machine stamped numbers in the run out.
