  1. Was "Deep Sounds" at 118 Chauncey Street ?
  2. There's also a French version by Mary Christine - think it's the same lyrics as the one above
  3. I thought that was someone from Marseilles (haven't re-read the thread so apologies if incorrect. This eBay one is located in Japan.
  4. Well it was released on Black Magic in the UK, along side his Sharonettes Disco Duck stuff, so at the time I would imagine loads of people bought it (one of Lorraine's Real songs was on the B side - think it was "What Can I Do)
  5. Simon Soussan used that label (with the Allen Zentz studio address), a lot on the mid-to-late 70's - all those Frank Beverly - She Loves Me (BK Markus) and Sally George - Misunderstanding acetates that were floating about were identical. I say "Sally George" but all the copies I ever saw had the artist scratched out and Sally George was the name attributed to them, either handwritten on the label, or the cover, so it was probably a second generation a made up name. Either way whoever Sally George was, it was probably the same artist as Love You Baby)
  6. What is the "glue" treatment - I can see from the picture that the records are doused in (glue?) - what happens then Cheers Mick
  7. Not sure - it's a basic white can with blue writing - afraid my eyes can't read the very fine print with the ingredients these days. It doesn't make the vinyl look much different (unless of course it had visible dirt on it to start with), and it does clean the grooves. That's an RS equivalent of the Maplins one - about the same price too. Cheers Mick
  8. Do you mean get a clean recording or actually clean the vinyl? If its the first, there are plenty of bits of software to do this. If you mean the vinyl, there are liquid solutions for specially this, although I use an anti-static foam cleaner (Maplins) that does just as good a job at a fraction of the price
  9. You could ring him up and get it that way
  10. It was someone "like" Karen Young who recorded "Are You Kidding", on UK Mercury (AYK being the other side of Country Girl). Maybe that's what your'e thinking of ?
  11. You're right Pete- I was thinking that about 10 minutes after I posted.
  12. Great, then that's a good-un
  13. I was lucky enough to be "in the know" at the time (early eighties I thought, but apparently 1979)
  14. Real ones have "For Promotional Use Only" on the right under the numbers. The boots have "DJ Copy Not For Sale" on the left under the time. Cheers Mick
  15. Oh yes Harry, not a boot at all (don't think it was ever booted)
  16. The Stemmons Express and Wilbur Walton were actually a different set of boots from the first set (General Assembly etc.) Might be one of the first "bootleg of a bootleg" labels. Cheers Mick
  17. Some are double "B sided" re-serviceable demos (The B side being "Can't Stop A Man"). Cheers Mick
  18. Not really relevant, but it's strange how the logo under the "COLUMBIA" is smaller on one side than the other.
  19. That orange label doesn't look like a scan - more like artwork for the label. Was ISC 018 a missing number in the original series?
  20. Did Petula Clark also sing this?
  21. There are both Issues and Demos of BOTH variations "I Know The Inside Story", and "I DIDN'T Know The Inside Story". I've always asumed the "Didn't" was a misprint and it was repressed with correct title - I don't know if the matrix is the same, probably is. There seems to be as many of each variation around, so probably nothing in it in rarity. Cheers Mick
  22. Don't know - if it's a different matrix to any other original Test Demo with the squashed A, then it suggests a different or later press. Can whoever has it put up a label scan ?? I never mentioned this before, as it would have confused the situation, but I have a Test Press of the Voc / Inst with the reissue matrix as previously described. It's undoubtedly from the early 70's, as the matrix has the normal 'A'. I had never seen or heard of this until last year. (I mean 2010 !)
  23. Always prefered the other side - "Suppose"

You probably mean one of the many Mike Morton LP There was a rumour about 2 years ago that this LP version by Mike Morton was the exact same recording as Blue Sharks. "These Things" is indeed the same, however "Banner Man" (The Blue Sharks flip side) is different. I did get both the LP's at the time, one with "These Things", and a second LP with "Heaven Must Have Sent You" (coincidentally, this second LP also had "Banner Man" on it). Also the tracks were faded together with Fake appluase between tracks (Like O'Jays MFP LP) Cheers Mick NB meant to update this but somehow forgot - Just to clarify "These Things" are the same recordings but "Banner Man" is different.
  25. OK Dave, if you have it then it must be right - I'm going by a vague memory and having the record for 5 minutes in 1980 ish - Just as a matter of interest was the standard release of "Be Happy/Inst also on 6702 ? Merry Christmas Mick
