Run Like The Devil
Here' a scan of the Bobby Vee LP Track listing which confirms the writers as in previous posts I seem to remember the whole LP was Blue Eyed Soul - His version of "Let Nobody Love You" is worth a listen to. The Four Tops medley on Side 2 was actually booted on a 45 by Simon Soussan as the "Detroit Shakers" , a name he used more than once or twice for "cover-up" artists (The two Capitol tracks spring to mind). Nice "originals" On Ebay
15 "Original" Northern Soul Records for sale on eBay https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=120275611342 The seller had been asked if they are original releases, and he has confirmed they are .... So "that's a good deal" (As Hannibal Heys used to say). Wonder how much this little lot will go for - It only takes two bidders Cheers Mick Holdsworth https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk

Ebay - Something Dodgy Going On
Pete, I think it's just a glitch - My instance a few days ago was that MyeBay told me "my Paypal payment has been refunded" - which was moments after winning an item, I hadn't paid anything at this point - I did check Paypal and nothing was there, my balance was correct - and still is. Tina Mason
Thought I heard somewhere that, although Tina Mason and Judy Street are not the same person, the photographs used for Tina's Capitol LP were actually photos of Judy Street - some mix up in the promotions department. Might be all pie in the sky though. Cheers Mick Holdsworth https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk

Skiing In The Snow.....instrumental
I don't think it was ever issued - when W-O was recorded, Russ had an inst mix put on to an acetate for his own use - might have be some other acetates at the same time floating about, but I only remember Russ playing it. Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk

Skiing In The Snow.....instrumental
I'm afraid it does exist - Unfortunately it's not the Dynovoice track, but the Wigans Ovalteenies backing that became an occasional play for Russ W. Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk

Lewie & 7 Days
Craig Moerer has had 'What You Never Had' up for ages at $75 and is still up on Gemm now. He did have it on eBay aswell, but that seems to have gone, so presumably the Gemm listing will disappear in a few days. - Have seen a few over the years, never this much though. As to quality, I don't think I've ever heard it, just end up seeing it when looking for 'You've Been Cheating' Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk

Kell Osbourne
Dave Thorley bought it from me - £50.00 in about 1983/4 (I'd had it for about 2 years by then, covered as Jimmy Gresham). Played occasionally as Wolverhampton's Cavendish Suite. Cheers Mick Holdsworth https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk

Any Ideas On Value?
He did, about 8 months ago, or a bit longer - Mint but no pic sleeve - think he got less than 100 for it. Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk

Teddy Vann
I'm familiar with no. 2 and 3 , as most of us are ... Can't say I've heard of a third variation with strings and guitar intro (no speaking ??) anyone got a sound clip of this ?? Also, wasn't there a track using this backing track by the Globetrotters / RCA Seem to remember talk on here last year about this - possibly unissued RCA acetate Again, any sound clip or confirmation this really exists? Antiques & Curios
Just a thought, but as 45s are louder than 33's, so 78's would be even louder and the scroll would be wider, leaving less chance of jumps and skips. Maybe they felt this was needed for a live TV transmission. Might be for some other reason though. Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk

Zz & Co - Gettin Ready For The Getdown
Hello I recently bought one of these "Zee Zee's Attic Finds" from Ian Clarke - £100 - on looking at the matrix, it is the second set of markings as described above ... Lightly scratched matrix FRJB - 51679 - A . then half a turn TLP. So if that marking is a counterfeit, does that mean that Jesse Butler did them, making them Legal ??? I'm confused. Inspirations
Think that might be "I'm Cuttin' In" , also on Mercury acetate (and later on CD). There were a couple of other tracks by this group that I think never got issued on Kent / Goldmine / Benn X etc. One is the flip side to the above song - "I Can't Stop Thinking About Her" . The other is called "What Did She Say" , which Is similar to the "Cuttin' In" song. (Got this from Tim A at the same time as "I Can Feel It" etc. as mentioned earlier in this post ). Realistic Values For Canadian 45's?
I'm Surprised that is still a cover-up after all this time, or is it now known, and I'm just being a bit of a Foolish lad. Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk

The Most Expensive 45 Postage Rate ?
I think the most expensive item I've seen in recent times was the Greater Experience last week - just over $90.00 shipping to UK (Probably insured to the hilt, but ... ) Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk

Uk Label Collectors - Ever Seen This Before?
Hello Pete It's all looks Greek to me. Usually, Irish releases have "Made in Eire" on them somewhere. It's been such a long time since I saw one close up, but if you remember the Greek Frank Beverly's and Dee Dee Sharp's on Top Tunes or some such label, they were of a similar label design. Unknown Artist-you Know How Love Is
It's on a Vinyl test pressing - never seen an acetate, maybe one has turned up though. The vinyls have "show business" on the B side, which is good too. Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com

Joey Heatherton On....brunswick?
I'm sure that Richard Searlings first copy was like this - I was under the impression it was Canadian Brunswick. Years later I had a Canadian Decca copy and then began to wonder about Richards, so maybe it was German / French. Is this your copy Pete? Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com

What's This All About Then
Saw this last night at £51 - couldn't really beleive it - looked today and found the finishing price of £125 - still don't beleive it. https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=170135811840 With a release number of 6051 012 that puts it into the 70's anyway, although it was advertised as an original. But whether it is a first, second or eighth issue, what is going on ?? In the back of my mind I think I remember another copy about 6 months ago going for silly money (£20 plus) - nothing like this amount though. Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com
