Maybe Wilber Walton Jr - 24 hours of Loneliness - Label was Yellow (123) Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk
  2. Craig Moerer has had 'What You Never Had' up for ages at $75 and is still up on Gemm now. He did have it on eBay aswell, but that seems to have gone, so presumably the Gemm listing will disappear in a few days. - Have seen a few over the years, never this much though. As to quality, I don't think I've ever heard it, just end up seeing it when looking for 'You've Been Cheating' Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk
  3. Dave Thorley bought it from me - £50.00 in about 1983/4 (I'd had it for about 2 years by then, covered as Jimmy Gresham). Played occasionally as Wolverhampton's Cavendish Suite. Cheers Mick Holdsworth https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk
  4. He did, about 8 months ago, or a bit longer - Mint but no pic sleeve - think he got less than 100 for it. Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk

  6. I'm familiar with no. 2 and 3 , as most of us are ... Can't say I've heard of a third variation with strings and guitar intro (no speaking ??) anyone got a sound clip of this ?? Also, wasn't there a track using this backing track by the Globetrotters / RCA Seem to remember talk on here last year about this - possibly unissued RCA acetate Again, any sound clip or confirmation this really exists? Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk
  7. Here's a couple of mine too https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk Cheers Mick Holdsworth https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk

Just a thought, but as 45s are louder than 33's, so 78's would be even louder and the scroll would be wider, leaving less chance of jumps and skips. Maybe they felt this was needed for a live TV transmission. Might be for some other reason though. Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk
  9. Hello I recently bought one of these "Zee Zee's Attic Finds" from Ian Clarke - £100 - on looking at the matrix, it is the second set of markings as described above ... Lightly scratched matrix FRJB - 51679 - A . then half a turn TLP. So if that marking is a counterfeit, does that mean that Jesse Butler did them, making them Legal ??? I'm confused. Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk
  10. Think that might be "I'm Cuttin' In" , also on Mercury acetate (and later on CD). There were a couple of other tracks by this group that I think never got issued on Kent / Goldmine / Benn X etc. One is the flip side to the above song - "I Can't Stop Thinking About Her" . The other is called "What Did She Say" , which Is similar to the "Cuttin' In" song. (Got this from Tim A at the same time as "I Can Feel It" etc. as mentioned earlier in this post ). 11. I'm Surprised that is still a cover-up after all this time, or is it now known, and I'm just being a bit of a Foolish lad. Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk
  12. I think the most expensive item I've seen in recent times was the Greater Experience last week - just over $90.00 shipping to UK (Probably insured to the hilt, but ... ) Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk
  13. Hello Pete It's all looks Greek to me. Usually, Irish releases have "Made in Eire" on them somewhere. It's been such a long time since I saw one close up, but if you remember the Greek Frank Beverly's and Dee Dee Sharp's on Top Tunes or some such label, they were of a similar label design. Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk
  14. 1967 - London - Part 1 and 2 Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com https://motownsound.co.uk
  15. It's on a Vinyl test pressing - never seen an acetate, maybe one has turned up though. The vinyls have "show business" on the B side, which is good too. Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com
  16. I'm sure that Richard Searlings first copy was like this - I was under the impression it was Canadian Brunswick. Years later I had a Canadian Decca copy and then began to wonder about Richards, so maybe it was German / French. Is this your copy Pete? Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com
  17. Saw this last night at £51 - couldn't really beleive it - looked today and found the finishing price of £125 - still don't beleive it. https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=170135811840 With a release number of 6051 012 that puts it into the 70's anyway, although it was advertised as an original. But whether it is a first, second or eighth issue, what is going on ?? In the back of my mind I think I remember another copy about 6 months ago going for silly money (£20 plus) - nothing like this amount though. Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com
  18. Don't know - here's a scan - doesn't really help Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com
  19. Here's an mp3 of it - hope you like it. Frais.mp3 Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com
  20. Martyn, Assume that no one else bids on this, does that mean the Highest bidder will get it, not for £157 , but one increment above the next highest, in this case £109 ?? Cheers Mick
  21. Hi Martyn, Thanks for that - Does it always show the second highest bid as the minimum required to out bid the third highest ? Bidder A £157 Bidder B £ 83 --------- shows 83 but would really be 148 ?? Bidder C £ 75 etc If that's the case it does make sense now. Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com
  22. I was gonna ring John Manship but it's too late tonight, so I thought I'd ask Soulsource folks. (If you're around John, maybe you can put me on the right track). Can anyone tell me how the proxy bidding set up works on John Manships auctions? - I've never noticed before but there's a few running at the moment with a top bid far in excess of a required increment above the second highest bidder. For example, Kim Weston has a high bid of £78.00, and the second highest maximum bid was £9.00, yet the increment required is only £8.00 - So if I had put that bid in of £78.00 (or more), I would have thought I only had to top the £9.00 maximum of the second highest bidder, plus £8.00 increment, making £17.00, with £61 to play with. The bidding help on John's site suggests that proxy bidding works, but the above example clearly doesn't. Am I missing something - If so please let me know. Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com
  23. Are you saying that eBay automatically responded to your upload with a warning ?? - must say i've never known this to happen before, it's usually afterwards if someone complains that a problem may arise - was there something in your description that flagged up a problem ?? Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com
  24. I have these 6 CD disks - still checking every now and then to see if the other 10 discs with 80 tracks on are to be released - I'm not holding my breath ! Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com
  25. Hello, There were indeed 4 versions - the "Original" back in the late 70's - a guitar based version that to this day has never been released, the CK Cd from about 10 years ago, and the more recent "reissue" on Soul (this has the Inst on the back). It sounds to me that the instrumental is not any original backing, but a modern day re-recording. Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com
