  1. just get p*ssed off with old has beens from back in the day, like yourself and winstanley, you left the scene years ago, now you come back, banging on about about what a great dj you were, and how were all doing it wrong , well, the scene ticked along quite nicely without you for the past 30 years, we have met at a soul night i used to run at moortown, when you turned up and started sounding off outside that the dj's didnt have a clue what they were doing and how you the great steve luigi would have the dance floor packed in no time, so, yeah i do have something against you, as for hiding behind a username, my names trev thomas , 128b main street , shadwell , leeds , ls17 8jb....transparant enough for you
  2. ok pete, a compromise, orangey red it is .....you senile old git
  3. a hell of a lot of people
  4. get your self down to spec savers pete, looks red to me, anyway red or orange, if it dont look like the one that pete has just posted up then its the boot in fact the best way to describe the boot label is a very poor ebay scan of the one that petes just posted (hope that makes sense)
  5. the original is like any other back beat record, vibrant red with a smooth label, the boot is a much paler red with a rough label,
  6. all variations of the same backing track the groovers - i'm a bashful guy - teri de / minit soul shakers - i'm getting weaker - loma lola sands - to whome it may concern - bison the styles - baby i'm alive - modern
  7. this record was reviewed in a fanzine in the early 80's, possibly blackbeat or midnight express
  8. not at pete smiths house
  9. bootleg is really thin vinyl, with a slightly raised ridge around the edge of the label, also the label is rough if you rub your finger over it
  10. you're not supposed to drink it
  11. after a weekend like that, i'm supprised you remember your name let alone gracie dumas... havn't seen gary for a couple of years now, if you've got a number for him could you pm it to me
  12. how long have you had this record nev.........about a ye hah
  13. sorry ian, my mistake it was gracie dumas, not betty lloyd, yes i think you've had better nights
  14. think you're using a bit of poetic licence regarding the betty lloyd ian, when you were back over from the states mid 90's , you came to the griffin nighter with gary field, i played you betty lloyd that night on my sound burger, that was the first time you'd heard it
  15. oh dear nev, will the buyer get a free course of line dancing lessons chucked in with this
  16. timi yuro was covered up as bobby paris, tempests - "someday" was also covered as bobby paris
  17. not read the whole thread, couldnt be arsed....in answer to ians original question....no, you dont have to spend millions, or have to own the most expensive records to become a top d.j. ...roger banks did it, with good taste and good choice of ORIGINAL records, still doing it whenever he d.j.s
  18. flanny's got one in sales
  19. i had one cut back in the early 80's topics - have your fun on one side vondells - hey girl on the other
  20. if you want to be taken seriously you do, i dont see arthur fenn , sam , butch , ginger , ady crosdale , or any of the other respected d.j.'s turning up at a venue playing boots, but i suppose you'll just carry on doing what you do, banging on to everyone what a top d.j. you were back in the day, funny, i dont see too many promoters falling over themselves to book you
  21. i think you'll find quite a few dj's have these on original vinyl, if you want to hear them at a do then why not book a d.j who does have the originals instead of some tosser with a box of boots and casino classics
  22. by all means buy as many boots as you want, but dont run around claiming to be a dj if you dont have the originals, you're just like winstanley another old has been trying to cash in on former glories, now jog off back to the rave scene
