  4. i'm assuming you're refering to the top copy, it looks white on my screen, however, if it's silver then i'm inclined to agree with you, as i'm not aware of any silver label demos only issues, like a lot of sue related stuff world without sunshine came out on quite a few different label designs, there are also monarch pressed styrene copies on various label designs, any chance of posting up a scan of your test press, it might be my old one, however i have seen a few test presses over the years, jim wensioria used to have a solid center acetate, plain white label with just the song titles typed on
  5. there was 100's of gold issues around back in the day as well, all originals, i used to have a white label test pressing of world without sunshine, sold it to sam about 8/9 years ago

  15. search for her performance on jools holland and judge for yourself, a great shame, but bottom line is, her once incredible voice has gone,

  18. in my opinion, from a northern / rare soul point of view it has to be butch, most of the others who people class as great only did it for a short period before moving on to other things, butch on the other hand has been top of the tree from the mid 80's to the present day, and before he started d.j'ing regulary he was supplying many of the top d.j's with records, 30 years of turning up top notch unknown sounds is some mean achievment others who have brought great listening pleasure into my life over the years are ian clark dave greet rob marriott sam searling ady croasdell arthur fenn mark bicknell (when he's not retired) gary rushbrook carl fortnum dave thorley pete widdison shay richardson keb darge guy hennighan
  19. considering who his former d.j'ing partner was, i really think you should change the title of this thread
  20. there actually was a southampton based soul covers band called rufus stone during the 80's, they backed up curtis mayfield when he played southampton top rank in 1985
