Edward Hamilton On Orang Carrie
Hi Roger, I have the green Carrie one which sounds superb! Very clear and quality sound, the Jameco one is on it's way to me soon (I hope) so i'll let you know if there's any difference in the recording. BTW, the Jameco one is credited to Edward Hamilton & The FIFES. Thanks, John

Why? There's been absolutely NO soul for at least 6 months!!! I've finally accepted that they (R.C) hate soul!

Sharon Soul
A mate of mine who runs a Detroit/Motown site (Richie Harding) once told me that Sharon's son contacted him asking if Richie could track down some of his mothers recordings and how much they were going for. I've seen that photo of her. Nice one about the blue's Pete....that's the one I have in my collection (great flip too). Had the UK Staeside...Ely charity shop 25p. Since traded it for some Rocksteady.

Sharon Soul
Sharon Soul did come out proper on 'blue' Wild Deuce (1001), the red and white ones are a bit rarer but both legit.

Am I right in thinking he was lead singer with the Royal Jesters?

Guilty - Symphonics (curtom)
Yeah, and I sold it/traded to Perry for £40. Funny thing is, I originally got it off Perry for nowt!!! Completely agree with your statement about being played out a couple of times (mainly to an 'always' packed dancefloor whatever...like Skeggy) and sometimes certain of these 'ok' and relatively 'untried' records sound fantastic played out loud . Then it's price-hike! If you go through your collection, I bet you'll find loads that need this exposure and they will be 3 figures no worry.

Sultans
...groan. Anyway, found this one on ebay and believe it's the same group because seller say's they are a white doo wop outfit from Louisville, Kentucky.

Luther Ingram Hib
Completely agree with this statement! Even though I don't like your avatar Ian!!! (oh why oh why are you soooo much better than us... ) BTW Chris..don't get the orange boot...it's terrible sound quality, the orange atco distrubted re-release is superb but I bet you're looking at least £50 for that.
-
Sultans
According to 'modernsoulsucks' there are 2 or 3 different groups named the Sultans and I know one of them was an old doo wop group. These guys could be them but I don't know anything except the credits on another release of a Sultans group bears no resemblence to my 45.

Sultans
A mate found this in L.A, it's a nice R&B flavoured tune with great swinging horns and catchy lyrics. Someone has written on the sleeve 'oddball Kentucky group'. Vocal is very blue eyed. There's a tune by a group of the same name in Tim Brown's guide on the 'Knowles' label @ £200. Don't know if it's the same group or not. Can't find no info at all. Anyone know anything about them or this 45?
