  1. Just as I thought Mick, reckon it could well be the 'Willie & Mighty Magnificents' track. If it is the 'Springers'....then WOW! I'll have to grab a better listen and then play a Springers tune to compare the vocals.
  2. It's great and on a Stang 45, total out and out Northern.
  3. Definitely unissued previously. This is the only official way to get it on vinyl 45. I have a copy and it's great!!

Found it and it's in really nice cond (EX+). As you can see from the scans it's a demo. It doesn't have a shiny label like my other Atlantic labels and is a pinkish colour rather than deep red....??? Any good to you mate? Let me know.

...with the superb 'Why Is It Taking So Long' on the flip!! I have a copy somewhere, I'll dig it out and have a look at it for you ok.
  6. Is the Willie & Mighty Magnificents tune the same as the 'Moments' version on Stang? Or are they perhaps one and the same? I have the Flamingos L.P and can't remember playing 'I'm Not Tired Yet' so I'll give it a spin later.
  7. I honestly did not think that this had been booted???? I've never seen a boot for sale in my life!!!
  8. Fabulous tune!! I got a white blank label (boot/carver) from a few years back. I only have 2 other tunes on Strata - 'The Persionettes' & 'The First Four'. Any other good tunes on the label?
  9. These are the ones...you can still get them in some places here. L.P shelf brillo too, £60 for the unit...16 squares!! Bargain. Also in black or white.
  10. If you got an Ikea near you, try them. They do some superb wooden boxes that are perfect cause they can be stacked up on each other as the depth allows the 45s to sit under the rim. They come in either black or white and are about £4 each but well worth it. They do a cardboard one too complete with lid and extra strong, about £2.50 each.

Most 'Soul' groups are more likely to be known as 'R&B' acts. Basically, collectively 'Soul' is called R&B (Rhythm & Blues), although nowadays for newer groups the term is more 'Rhythm & Beats'.
  12. Fantastic record! I got a copy but had to part with £300 worth of trades about 8 years back. Saw a fella hand over almost that amount in cash at a record fair around the same time too. It's obviously dropped in price then!!!??? 'Crash'...what a great looking label! I've heard the 'Roy Smith' is a good 'un too.
  13. Christ! Just took a peek on there, 'Black River Circus' (nice unknown Northern/Garage thing) "Love's Gonna Carry Me"...Prices range from a mere $7 to $419..!!!!...taking in another @ $321..!!!! Wow! If you like your Northern in a 'Tempests/ Ithacas' blue-eyed garage kind of way better get the $7 one now!
  14. The owner is a bit moody, I've been banned from Gemm, all because I got billed (and paid) twice for the same record! Basically, I told my credit card who promptly addressed the balance, of course I didn't know but Gemm refunded me too. Was it my fault? No! Now I can't buy on there. But, by what you guys are saying, who cares!
  15. A couple of record shop owners I know put their BEST stuff on ebay! Little wonder nobody bothers with the record shop anymore. Want a rare record you've been after for ages...? Go on ebay. Simple as. I know, it's attitudes like this that are shutting down the record shop's but that's the way it is today I'm afraid. I hardly venture into my local record shop, his prices are o.t.t (for 'bootlegs' he knows nothing about!) and when he does get something tasty....up on ebay it goes! Pointless.
  16. Glen Campbell of 'Rhinestone Cowboy' fame?
  17. Re Vic Waters - very interesting, I recently bought 'The Ferris Wheel' L.P (Pye 1967, UK soul group) and there's a version of 'Taking Inventory' on it, absolute stormer! Must be the same track.
  18. Unbelievable!!! I have their tune on D-Town and never thought for a moment that a clip of those little guys ever existed!! The 45 has a great flip too 'What Can It Be'. I particularly liked the second clip of them when the music speeds up and they break into a dance routine....priceless! I can't believe he has passed!! He must have only been....what....early fifties? Sad news indeed.
  19. I got one knocking around, also contains 'Soul Incorporated'. Sure I got it free at a do but I just can't remember now???? Sorry
  20. Thanks for that Chalky! I have it on the 'You've Got To Earn It' CD...the first release for this tune! Loads of other great unissued tracks by the Temps. Ace booklet too!
  21. On the Stylistics album 'Heavy' is this cool tune 'She Did A Number On Me'.... funky and modern with SOUL!
  22. Unreleased mate....anywhere! CD only. Great though aint it!!!
  23. I had a similar piece luck from a work mate a couple of years back, he brought in a nice UK album copy of Marvin Gaye 'How Sweet It Is' TML 11004 (1965) and gave it to me. well chuffed!
  24. Got a nice EX+ almost M- copy for £20. Any good to you? P.M me if interested
