Valentinos On Soul City
Presume you're talking about 'It's All Over Now' ??? I've never heard it out, but then I never went to Wigan.

Here, Read This Before It Disappears
Maybe Reg has seen something when he went round there, he keeps asking the same old question "are they scratched with tatty covers, please give me an honest answer"....perhaps he wants the seller to own up without actually saying it. Just a thought.

Joanie Sommers - Don't Pity Me - Warner Bros
Kent did a WB compilation L.P in 1989 'Satisfying Our Souls' and Joanie Sommers is on that, I suppose that counts as an official album release???

Don Renaldo Strings - Fiddlin Around - Ran
It was booted. Real one is a shinier violet than the duller labelled boot.

- Wanted - Brown Poly Lined Sleeves
Had a discussion about these sleeves not so long ago, they seem to be the preferred choice for Reggae collectors whilst soul boys tend to lean more toward the white card sleeves. I always think of Reggae when I see these sleeves, even 'Trojan' use them in a lot of their art & designs for CD/L.P sleeves. Mind, they are probably better at preserving a record as they have the poly lining thing going on. Not really being much help am I- Delphi Label
Brilliant pic Godz!! Looks like I was spot on with my assessment of the group, the female must have been the lead singer on the 'I Don't Love You No More' (Delphi 009) side, as I said before it's a great tune!- Delphi Label
Delphi 009 - Prophets 'Don't You Think It's Time/I Don't Love You no More' also came out on Jubilee. Two great sides, main side is a male vocal whilst the brilliant flip is a female lead set just above mid-tempo and may be the pick of the two for some. Not sure if this is the same group who recorded on Detroit's 'Stephanye' or indeed 'Shrine'. I know the lead singer was black (and the female) but the musicians were blue-eyed. They are the same group who recorded for Smash with the Northern oldie 'I Get The Fever'.- Hendrix And Soul ?
There's a great version of 'Aint That Peculiar' by Jimmy Hendrix on one of his L.Ps that wouldn't be out of place at a Northern Soul event.- Blue Eyed Soul Versus The Way Of The Crowd
Good call that man! Magnificent Men, Embers, Lost Soul, Soul Masters (Raven), Swinging Counts, Deadbeats, Dean Parrish....I could go on and on, all floor fillers, all quality rare soul.- John Edwards, How Can I Make It Without You
- Johnny Dunn On Veep Info
Think you may be on about the black hexagon shape around the rim of the label Bri? Anyway, here's my original copy, no 'raised x' but bell sound stamped both sides....- Dena Barnes - 'these Heartaches'
If Shirlie Matthews is a S.S thing why is it on the old Inferno L.P 'Mirwood the sound of swingin Hollywood' (Burn 1 - 1984) then? In the sleeve notes it boasts that Sherlie (yes, spelt with an e) is a Mirwood mainstay.- Embers On Eee
The 'second/later' issue on EEE has a later photo of the band on the back cover (probably 1969 by the look of them, longer hair etc). The first has an earlier photo, typical of the time, short neatly combed hair, suits etc.- Dena Barnes - 'these Heartaches'
Be interesting to know the singers actual name on the 'Dena Barnes' 45, at least then I can credit her on a Detroit CD I put together.- Chuck Ray
Similar looking label design to Gordon Keith's 'Look Ahead' on Calumet.- The Visitors On Trc
I've e-mailed you regarding this record. Have a white demo for sale.- The Reflections - Golden World / Abc Records
I believe the L.P pictured is the only album put out on Golden World, am I right?- Jackie Edwards Oh Mary
'Oh Mary'....what a stomper! It is available on a red & white UK Island 45 by the way. Forgot to add, the alt version of 'I Feel So Bad' is available on a red/white lookalike UK boot too as the flip of the standard cut.- Weird Northern Soul Artists Names
The 'Huns' Review'.....what's that all about?- Marvin Gaye
I have that one Tony, came with pic sleeve too. That's obviously the original release, not sure if there's a dodgy 45 of the original take anywhere though.- Marvin Gaye
No album, as I said earlier 'Lonely Lover' is an unissued track.- Lily Fields On Kent
Thanks Ady, P.M sent. After listening to that Lily Fields track I just had to have a copy! Can't wait for the next R.C.A one too!! Of course I WILL be shelling out for that one.- Lily Fields On Kent
Where's me free copy you promised me Mr Croadsdell? Stuck in the post I should imagine (Ps. I provided you with scans of 'The New Yorkers' GWP 45 on W.B )- Goldmine Sevens
All of those you've listed are worth listing individually Paul. Some great titles there mate. I couldn't tell you exactly what you would get for them though. - Wanted - Brown Poly Lined Sleeves
