  1. Had Hank 'Soul Man' Mullens on the original 'Audel' 45 for a few years now, great tune!
  2. About 15 years ago in Wisbech Cambs , I found a few USA 45s on a car boot for 10p each. Two of these really stood out for me, I'd never heard them before or even seen them listed anywhere. They were 'The Huns Revue' on Sorro and Donald Height 'Rags To Riches To Rags' on Honey....put them on tapes and CDs over the next few years for mates. Both have since become fairly in-demand and can command £150/200 each.
  3. Mine's a dark green one. Looks and plays fine.
  4. Hey Darryl! A big hello, especially from the UK. I don't have the Wand 45 but do have the UK L.P 'Solid Soul Sensations'. 'Name It And Claim It' is a fabulous piece of uptempo Soul (just the way the Brits loved it!) So, come on, how about a nice photo from the 60's!!?? Get a reply started in this thread, click on the 'browse' button at the bottom right hand...get your photo from your documents or wherever, click the 'upload' button then go to the 'manage current attachments' click on the green + sign and it should add the photo into the reply. I think that's right?
  5. As far as I know, only 4 off the album are L.P tracks only. These being: THAT'S WHAT LOVE IS (unless you count the UK 45 that came out about 10 years ago I suppose) I BELIEVE TO MY SOUL SOUL SUPERMAN No.2 CLAP YOUR HANDS Hope this helps. John
  6. You're not serious are you? Take a look at the TITLE of the record....'The VIAGRA Song' ....are you feeling it now?

    Nothing wrong with mine too.
  8. It's one of the BEST blue eyed Northern Soul records that ever came out. I still love it to bits! By the way Liam...Up The Spurs!
  9. Also available on 12".... Once it's on the decks, it just keeps going and going and going and......
  10. Thanks for the info George, much appreciated. It might not be as rare as others but this particular 45 is a good one if you like garagey type soul! (IMO)
  11. So, it's maybe pointing to the fact that this is related to the other Raven 45's we all know then. Hope so, as I'm in the process of trying to get them all....cash permitting!
  12. Is the record on Flagg a recent thing then Pete? I had no idea, really.
  13. Yes boba I tried that but it kept giving me an error message that said 'you have not got enough fees in your paypal balance to cover the refund'...which I found stupid as my missus always buys stuff using paypal via her credit card (which they have details)...so could not understand why they didn't take it from that??
  14. Thanks for that Gene, interesting about the HOS & OOS. Was the PEE WEE, CHUCK & HUEY on FLAGG (Beside Myself) from Chicago??
  15. Me too, off Ady Potts. Great tune!
  16. I couldn't believe a guy who my missus sold a Playboy handbag to (on Ebay) just before Christmas. He claims he never received it (basically he was pissed off with not getting it before Christmas, not my fault I might add as she posted with time to spare)....anyway I sent him his money back via Paypal for the amount of £4.75 and that included the postage too! A few days later he e-mailed (twice!!!) saying thanks for the refund but Paypal took 35p off for fees and can I pay this a.s.a.p...!!!!!! That's 35 f*****g PENCE!!!!!!!!
  17. Not sure if this label 'Raven' is related in any way to the other label with Carolina groups The Soundmasters & The Lost Soul on?? Don't suppose these 'Prophets' are the one's on Smash etc.. I also wonder if the 'Pee Wee' on this 45 is the one on 'Flagg' with Chuck & Huey??? This Raven release is obviously very obscure and is a nice mid-tempo northern/garage offering, anyone know anything about it? I can't do sound samples btw. PEE WEE & THE PROPHETS - I'M SO TIRED (RAVEN OOS - 1) (matrix reads: G&C - 110)
  18. I knew I wasn't crackin' up!!
  19. Sorry mate, can't help you there. I looked in the USA Goldmine 45's guide at the Johnny Rivers discography and no 'I Can't Help Myself' on 45 so am presuming L.P only. I've got the Goldmine L.P guide too but unfortunately doesn't give track listings....absolutely loads of Johnny Rivers L.P's too so good luck in your search!!
  20. Yes, booted on a good lookalike yellow issue. Flip of 'I Can't Hide It'.
  21. Same as mine. Oops, apologies...mine's vinyl with good old paper label...scan coming up...
  22. Oh yes, you're dead right! BTW, in the garages behind, one belonged to my dad....had boxes of old Ska & Rocksteady 45's from when he used to go to the 'blues' parties in Hackney, London back in the sixties. After he cleared off with a young bit of bint I pilfered them!! He still asks for them back!
