  1. you didn't post a link to your auctions, you posted a link to my ebay - items I'm selling which will not show the items that YOU are selling if anyone clicks on it.
  2. awesome thanks so much. i added a number in the comments...
  3. obviously it would be huge (with lots of stuff that isn't soul) but anybody ever attempt this? I would love to see one. Thanks.
  4. wood glue cleaning works on vinyl, it's probably one of the worst things you can do to an acetate unless you're trying to pull it off the metal
  5. I think preserving vs. cleaning is two different questions. If the acetate is not flaking, you can at the minimum rub the grooves with your finger (not fingernail) under running water. You can also go over it with a toothbrush and some soapy water and then rinse it with running water and put it in a rack to dry. I'm guessing part of the reason old acetates are dying might have less to do with how they were cut and more to do with how they were stored and what conditions they were exposed to. unfortunately i don't know the ideal conditions for preserving acetates.
  6. everyone with the same slightly unusual first name is the same person everyone with the same last name are relatives
  7. thanks so much I appreciate it
  8. Can anyone tell me if Audio Arts 700 by the remarkables also comes on an "Audio art' label? I googled it and it's referenced a few places on that label but without photos so I don't know if it's a mistake or not. Also, does the label ever say "with Frank Wilson" or "with Vance Wilson" on it? I know the names are printed directly below the group names, just asking about the "with". Thanks in advance.
  9. I always love how diverse the tracks are on your playlists. All the stuff you played past the early 80s stuff I have never ever heard of and there's a lot of quality stuff when listening.
  10. I think puresoulie is jorg, not thorsten. Either way, it probably makes sense to wait for a reply first before a public airing.
  11. yeah, you should definitely try lighter fluid or orange gum-out before steam, you don't want to expose a record to heat. an obnoxious packing experience i had was when someone put a 45 inbetween 2 pieces of cardboard and stapled it shut. not just a few staples but literally staples all around every side, it was horrible. I spent about 20 minutes prying staples open with a knife, by the time i got the record out it was cracked and had staple indentations all over it.
  12. boba replied to a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
the title is "when you have love". the label is Mijarelix. I've had a copy for years, people started looking for it in the last few years. I actually got it when craig moerer first started doing ebay auctions, it must have been his first or second auction he ever did. it cost me much less than $900 then.
  13. Thanks so much for the info. I actually did find out who the gents on paramount were since I wrote the first post. The group was from Newark, NJ and were the same group as the Young Gents on Buddah. They evolved into Elegant Taste on Magna-Glide.
  14. I was confused by the thread title because I've never heard of a singer named "Plan B" (I'm in the US) and "Plan B" is the name of the "morning after" pill. What a terrible name for an artist.
  15. dude, listen to "should I take you home", it rules
  16. awesome post. i laughed at the "holman and dozier".
  17. I think it's the same as the RPR release. At least the "should I take you home" side is the same (I never play the other side).
  18. does "slapping some soul on you" count? some of the other sunliners are decent, not necessarily northern though.
  19. a nice cut only found on stock copies is carol townes and fifth avenue "love has found my heart". hard to find.
  20. I'm not sure the krystal comes with a flip. it might, but i have been looking for a while at least.
  21. I asked my source. He said that he hadn't talked to Prentice Anderson directly but had been sent a (long) recording of a private interview with Prentice Anderson so it was like talking to the primary source. I asked if he could confirm the different cities and he said that he had to find the CDs that the interview was on and listen to them (apparently it was very long) so I probably won't get a confirmation. Although he could have made a mistake, he did listen to Prentice Anderson so it's probably correct, but again I didn't get a confirmation.
  22. the real 109 is this: Spring 109 - Herman Griffin & Boys in the Band - Music gonna save the world / Groovin' with the boys in the band
  23. the golden grass record is actually an expensive garage single
  24. Spring 196 - Renee Pryor - Broadway / ?
