  1. Don Ray and Cecil Washington. Played back to back if I remember correctly at Derby Assembly Rooms circa 1979. Still like Don Ray although Cecil Washington is in a class of its own. One of the best soul records ever recorded/played. Haunting, atmospheric song not matched by many. Also seem to recall Sue Lynn and Tony Basil - awesome dance track. Pete
  2. I suspect it probably is.
  3. The point is you don't. Unless you're prepared to travel. If you're not then stick to your nostalgia nights with boring dj's playing boots of the top five hundred wanky northern records - probably half of which aren't even soul records.
  4. Ha! I'll remember that next time I'm in the chippy.
  5. I presume chunk is a Norfolk name for a pike Chris?
  6. I suppose Johnny Scott is too obvious.
  7. Perhaps a little too subtle for you. Is your key board knackered? The upper case command is stuck.
  8. Is that Luther?
  9. Whenever you like.
  10. Or a bootleg do you mean? Sorry, but I disagree. Plenty of places to go to hear rare ovo.
  11. We're watching em mate!
  12. Well it's not ovo is it.
  13. Thanks Steve got a few big outdoor stores. I'll check them out definitely.
  14. Hi Steve I'm ok mate thanks and hope all is well with you. I did google them and may well buy a pair - there were a few variations of the model you have. Now here's a thing. I treated myself to a pair of Salomon walking boots about a year ago and have never got on with them - and they are really slippy on wet stone/slate. Cost me £130! Might have to ditch em and buy on your recommendation. A bit indulgent - but hey I'm worth it!
  15. You'll be debating this one till the cows come home.
  16. Yes if it was sold as legitimate. Who sold it to you? Peter
  17. Great picture. Is that you, where is it and did you catch anything? Peter
  18. From reading the thread the answer seems quite obvious. The limited edition 45 accompanying the album has a scratched matrix and the boot is stamped. Simples. Innit?
  19. Hi Steve Just googled them - there are lots of different ones. Which ones did you buy?
  20. I think you've all answered the question.
  21. Why is it so light everywhere? It wa different in my day. Don't people suffer with bad paranoia these days either?
  22. I like it. Sams one has a nice bit of history with it - if he still has it. I would buy a good one for £200. Pete
