  1. Crap photo but the text looks as if it's quite heavy on the middle left an right, I looked mine out and the text is fine and well defined. Could just be caused by blurring on this photo though?! gary
  2. Here's a scan of the record for your information. gary
  3. Yes I agree, i really like this. Got it on Clouds, it costs only a couple of quid and I've always really enjoyed t'other side(love wont wait) as well. gary

The flea market at Porte de Clignancourt has some record stalls. I've picked up a couple from there in the past. I found a good little store called Sound records at 6 rue des precheurs in Les Halles. Mostly LP's but had some good stuff and the guys were very enthusiastic and helpful. There used to be a good store in Boulevard Beaumarchais near the Bastille, might be a refernce to it on here. I went looking for it in Octover it's now a furniture store! good luck gary
  5. So many great threads this year, enjoyed the Levine thread that went on and on.......... Can't be bothered by the poitics myself but love to read the opinions of others (and how heated it can get). Stafford tunes was blinding and have loved every post in the Deep/sweet, crossover Fridays and Sixties Soul Sundays. Long live Soulsource!!! gary
  6. Not at all rare or expensive but I love Liberty - Girl you better wake up - BASF, it's so uplifting. Also enjoy Harry Betts - Theme from the fantastic Plastic machine - Epic gary
  7. Yes, nice tune gary
  8. What does this go for these days? Mines the 401-A issue, curiously it's got a small $1 stamp on it, worth more than this surely? gary
  9. The phrenetics Band - Michigan Move - Acetate only(?) Paradox - Ring the changes - Polydor gary
  10. I used to be bad for the odd doodle on sleeves. I case you don't know this guy he's called Oor Wullie. gary

get those cheques in the post folks!! gary
  12. Yes so it's not the rarest, most expensive or best record in the world, but knocked of my 'need to get a copy of this' list. It beggars belief why someone would post a record across the Atlantic in a big brown envelope. Interestingly the person put 99cents as the value on the customs form, twice it's current value!!!! gary
  13. This dropped through the door today, sent in a big envelope with a bit of bent over card crudely taped together allowing plenty of room for the recod to roam about. When I saw it on the floor I didn't even have to open it to tell it was fecked it was only a matter of how many bits it was in. Shabby label but the vinly WAS nice if not a little grubby. Why oh why? Just needed to get this off my chest ....sorry!!!! gary

I'd be delighted to stick in £20, well worth it! gary
  17. Stunning tune!!!!! gary
  18. I'm partial to a bit of Soulful House but this doesn't really hit the mark for me. It's not a bad tune but I find it a bit bland! I love your opening line...."Me and the missus are waxing lyrical about 2004's releases (on the house side of things)......etc" Was there nothing on the telly? Nothing to be criticized over, good music is good music regardless of era or style, it's in the ear of the beholder! gary

I recently sent 70lp's, I wrapped them together in several layers of bubble wrap and packing tape then into a cardboard box with lots of cardboard packed around them. I think the important thing is to ensure they will not move about inside the box. Lots of packing tape on the corners to re-enforce them and lots of 'FRAGILE' tape!!! gary

I've used Parcel Force worldwide and found them very reliable and resonably priced https://www.parcelforce.com/portal/pw gary

Was it not legally re-issued by Jamie Guyden on styrene? gary
  22. Here's a scan of the record being queried. Vinyl with small scratched in matrix. gary
  23. Alan Great to see you on here. Very fond memories of the YM. Many an adventure myself and Mr Higgins had getting to and from the place. I always remember Peem the human bulldozer dancing some 'clear space' on the dance floor. Probably one of the reasons people took to the tables!! gary
  24. Good call Andy! Glenrothes YMCA was a tremendous venue and crowd. The Walls brothers did a masterful job at running the venue and the sounds were knock out. I remember the Larry Wedgeworth 'incident' as if it were yesterday! Full to the brim with great characters, the place had an electric atmosphere, which was almost 'Wild West' at times. Picked up some great tunes there as well, Larry Davis, Frank Foster etc. SOOOOOOOOO many great memories. Come on Alan time for a YMCA re-union!!! gary
  25. Also features on the LP 'Rockabilly psychosis and the garage disease' where you get to 'appreciate' his full 'talent' with that rousing bugle solo!! Clearly no right in the head. gary
