  1. Along those lines"Âand apologies for hijacking your thread"Âwhat about the Stemmons Express backing tracks being identical to the Precisions? How'd that happen?
  2. Ha, sorry, I just want to be able to play the thing. It's a great song and I want to hear it loud.
  3. That's the one. Now...anyone have one for sale?
  4. hmmm...a buddy of mine here in the u.s. played an isleys 45 that appeared to be u.k. and had a large blue or green A on the "my love is your love" side. b-side was another isleys song that was possibly lp-only, can't recall which one.
  5. anyone have an isleys "my love is your love" on uk 45? and does the temptations' "forever in my heart" exist on 45 at all as a boot or latter-day release? if so i need one. thanks, m
  6. No, Willie was a popular baseball player on the local team, the Tigers. This was his only appearance on a record, as far as I know.
  7. Mambo is taking over the world...AGAIN!
  8. I've often felt that way about Sam Dees on SSS Intl.

I'd had an acetate of this for years and never knew what it was and assumed it never came out. Was quite surprised to find it existed. I'd guessed right at the title ("The Bullet") but had been calling the artist the M.I.A.'s. Drum break on my acetate is much louder and better!
  11. That's SO not your sound, Nick...is it?!?

Here's one missing from the discography. Same label, different look: https://collectorsfrenzy.com/Details.aspx?id=120873371156
  13. I'm not clear on what he intends to do with the tracks. I have met him and like him and would like to support him, though. Could you please explain this a little more clearly? If he's not making "tailor-made" versions of songs over the original backing tracks, why wouldn't a vocal version suffice for learning the material? Thanks, Matt
  14. I'll second that. Come on, let's shake some copies out of the woodwork. Cash waiting.
  15. All right, then...who has some info on Curtis King?
  16. Whipped copies surface around Detroit.

  18. The problem I have with certain reissues as a DJ arises when there's a "warm-up" DJ on before me somewhere and he plays, say, Arthur Griswold on "Toledo" when I've got Arthur Griswold on Fortune with me in my box. The reissuers are doing ALL the warm-up DJ's work: not only providing cheap copies of killer records but CHOOSING them for him, preselecting the prime cuts....They don't reissue crap, after all! But then I think: Why shouldn't everybody have access to this great music, and I forgive everyone.
  19. Never turns up in Detroit.
  20. Not all "demand" is in the UK. Many US DJs collectors have been very into sounds like "I Need You" for a while now, and I've seen the record in several boxes lately.
  21. All Because I Love You, Tamla white promo (same both sides) I seem to recall this going up in price recently. Anyone know a fair current figure?
  22. From research I did years ago about the local Detroit radio charts during the '67 riot, I know that "Almost" was a big local hit in late July 1967, so Carla must have preceded Karen by many months.
  23. Wow, I never got that either!! Nice one!
  24. All-time favorite dance-floor destroyer, though it's now too fast for me to dance to at my advanced age. Agree with Bob that Harvey is a great guy to hang out with.
